YES. THANKS TO YOUR HELP... we have launched our Artist in Residency Program!!!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
(Atlanta. Georgia- 28 September, 2011)

The Creatives Project Proudly Announces the
2011 Artist-in-Studio Recipients

The Creatives Project (TCP) is pleased to announce its first six "Artists in Studio". The program, the inaugural venture of TCP’s Creative Community Housing Project (CCHP), provides six artists with free long-term studio space and exhibition opportunities. In exchange, each of the selected artists will serve as mentors and teachers through TCP’s Community Arts Program (CAP), which provides arts education and outreach to youth and adults throughout the community. The Artists in Studio will complete their outreach service in partnership with Atlanta nonprofit One Love Generation (OLG). Studios and exhibition spaces are located at The Goat Farm Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Chosen from more than 40 applicants by TCP’s Artistic Advisory Board, the Artists in Studio represent a diverse, dedicated group of Atlanta artists and youth mentors.  The six artists are Justin Rabideau, Brandon Sadler, Ashely Schick, Marcy Starz, Nikki Starz, and Hannah Perner-Wilson. Two alternates, Margaret Hiden and Jerushia Graham, were also chosen.  While alternates are not provided with studio space, they are an integral part of TCP’s outreach initiative and will benefit from exhibition and artist promotion opportunities. (Please read more about the recipients here).

The Creatives Project is also very excited to announce Keif Schleifer’s appointment as Community Liaison for TCP’s Community Arts Program.  As Community Liaison, Keif will lead group instruction and activities on Tuesday nights with the youth of OLG, and also act as a Resident Advisor to TCP’s Artists in Studio, providing them with guidance and peer support throughout the course of the program.

Friday October 14 during THE SECOND COMING: TCP's Fall Exhibition and Benefit, supporters will welcome these new additions to the TCP family.

“It was definitely not an easy task, but after reviewing some amazing applicants our advisory board honed in on a strong group of artists whose talents and backgrounds encompass both outstanding artistic merit and commitment to community service.  Although each has their own specific style and experience, there is one thing they undoubtedly share in common. Their passion and commitment to our city’s youth will leave a huge impact on our community.”  Neda Abghari, Executive Director

The Creatives Project (TCP)’s mission is to enrich and strengthen the local community through quality arts-based education and outreach, while celebrating and elevating the city’s visual and performing artists.

ART + EDUCATION + COMMUNITY + COMMERCE =
