Mutulu Kafele is a performance poet in                               Houston, Texas. 

Though his performances could be roughly considered as spoken word, Mk. would argue that it is the written word and the actual ritual of writing that is the base of his performance. Doing the same justice and injustices to the awaiting page as a painter would do the vulnerable canvas.

The Dive Bard Collection is the second chap-book by Mk. This C.R.C. publication was an unexpected means to an end. Mk. was taking several breaks organizing and compiling other future collections, and would spend these breaks the local watering holes. He would bring his project notes just in case, though; the project would be out of sight out of mind. The Dive Bard Collection started out of a verbal exercise that got so out of hand that it landed on the age perfectly. Simplicity in approach and word play kept the pen moving and the drinks coming. Several walked tabs later; The Dive Bard Collection was completed.

“Fell” 2011

The C.R.C.’s first publication was “Fell.” It was a chapbook We released out of a no-room apartment in a complex symbolically named The Retreat. 2007 was the year we first got started, it just happened; “Fell”. We printed 25, first edition card stock. Second edition was 35 color paper. Some were sold, most were giving away or exchanged, and maybe a few lost, but they all got out there. They all fell somewhere. You know? You will receive a copy of “Fell” 2011, the Austin SxSw edit that was never released.
