Update #14: Greenland at FringeNYC
Dearest donors,
A year and a half ago, you helped us workshop two Canadian plays in New York. One of those plays, Kate Hewlett's The Swearing Jar, premiered at the 2010 New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC) to rave reviews and sold-out houses. This year, we will premiere Nicolas Billon's Greenland (the other half of our 2010 Winter Workshop Series) at the 2011 New York Fringe. To do so, we've launched a new Kickstarter campaign to help offset the considerable cost of importing a show from The Great White North to The Big Apple.
We have just over 11 days to reach our goal, having raised almost $2,000 already. With your help, we can meet our objective with time to spare. Our rewards for this project include some of the wonderful artwork that our new artist-in-residence Jonathan Bartlett has provided for our seventh season, in addition to tickets to the show and exclusive invitations to our FringeNYC opening party.
The Bridge continues to operate without government funding on either side of the border, relying on donors like you to provide a home for Canadian playwrights and artistic opportunities for local actors and directors in New York City. Greenland wouldn't have made it this far without you. We humbly ask that you consider supporting its next great step.

Update #13: Calling On You Once Again
Update #12: What does The Bridge have in common with Wilco?
Why, Derrick Belcham, of course!
As many of you know, Derrick shot the profile that's featured on our project page. At around the same time our piece was produced, Derrick was putting the finishing touches on a video he shot for Vancouver singer-songwriter Emily Brown. That piece had been shot, in part, as an homage to the famed French music blog La Blogotheque, whose music video series, Les Concerts A Emporter (The Takeaway Shows) gained worldwide notoriety for having beautifully documented intimate performances by some of the globe's biggest bands and musicians. It didn't take long for the Parisians to recognize Mr. Belcham's talents and, when Wilco was scheduled for recent a swing through Canada, they commissioned him to shoot a performance of "Country Disappeared".
The video is now live and looks, unsurprisingly, fantastic.
Congrats Derrick.

Update #11: Kate Hewlett talks about "The Swearing Jar"
Derrick Belcham (or Master Videographer as we've come to know him), caught up with playwright Kate Hewlett in Toronto to discuss her critically acclaimed play The Swearing Jar and her relationship with The Bridge.

Our workshop of The Swearing Jar goes up this Friday and Saturday thanks to your support.
Update #10: Rewards!
Update #9: SOLD OUT!!!
Our workshop of "Greenland", is sold out for all three performances this week. This would not have been possible had we not reached our goal so early. On behalf of the cast and crew, as we approach our deadline at 8pm this evening, we'd like to extend our most heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has supported us through Kickstarter.
More updates to come...
