About this project
The Azoic is looking for support for two projects, but due to the different musical climate financial constraints and time (or a lack-there-of), there’s been silence for a few years. As many of you are aware, the music industry is not the same as it once was. This leaves independent musicians and record labels struggling on how to financially continue making music and support all associated costs. Sadly, these days releases hit the file-sharing sites as soon as they are released and sales are extremely limited. So, here's where you hopefully come in to make this dream possible!
For this kickstarter, we are asking for support for a professionally filmed and edited music video PLUS to assist with the release (mastering, pressing, printing, press and advertising, promotion, etc.) We are only asking $2,000 so we can try to assure the project is funded. In reality for both the video and release, it will cost over $4,000. Any additional above and beyond $5,000 *** will go towards a brand new Azoic full length release and help us play live shows. (Yes, we are ready to get back out there!)
It’s been too long and The Azoic really wants to show their appreciation for all the years, shows, friends, fans, support and much more. So, here’s your chance to be a part of The Azoic’s history (1996 until ?) and celebrate with us!
We are already well on the way to making both the video and album a reality. And, somehow, both will be released no matter what. Thus far, we have funded everything out of our pockets, as we've done over the years. However, this is getting harder and harder to do (see above). This Kickstarter will help us to know if we can and should continue making music in the future.
THE "Corruption" MUSIC VIDEO
First off, our biggest project ever, will be a new professionally staged, shot and edited music video. YES, you heard that right! The Azoic is going to unleash a new music video for “Corruption” and we need YOUR participation! We will be shooting with an amazing crew who are all known in their fields! A professional videography company, lighting designer (who worked for a MAJOR TV show as the lighting director for 8 seasons!), stylist, make-up artist and photographer (for stills and behind the scenes footage) - ALL within an architecturally significant building in Columbus, Ohio.
It will be professionally edited, have a storyline, cameo appearances and released before the EP. (In fact, all those who pledge $30 or more will get to see the video at least a week prior to the public!) Please note: there is a clip from our 2003 "Conflict" video for reference, which was done on a shoestring budget and without the proper equipment. This new video will be of much higher quality (even though we still like the other video!)
We are looking for extras on August 16, 2012 (and potentially August 17, 2012 or the weekend after). Due to the upcoming video shoot approaching quickly, WE NEED to meet our goal of at least $2,000 (and will somehow *wink*), so please note that we need help getting the word out!
NEW 'Corruption' EP RELEASE
Secondly, we’re releasing new music. It’s overdue! We have a tracked entitled "Corruption" and several amazing remixes. We will also be adding at least 3 new tracks to the 'Corruption' EP, so it will not just be one track. (Diversity is GOOD!)
We will be releasing the 'Corruption' EP in both physical and digital formats. Therefore, part of the funding will go towards professional mixing, mastering, artwork and pressing costs.
To try and keep this interesting, we’ve added some fun rewards, but are open to ideas! If you have a suggestion for a reward we didn't think of, get in touch using the contact info on this page.
And, if there's enough demand and support, we're going to get CRAZY! ***If we hit over $5,000, we will release a new full length album, entitled 'Transitions' and tour to support the release!
