Update #15: A new KS project already?? This time for victims of the typhoon in the Philippines
Manila, the city where I spent much of my childhood and where many of my family still reside (they are doing okay) is underwater after the worst flooding to hit the Philippines since the 60's.
Frustrated by the lack of good ways for those abroad to give money, I'm setting up this Kickstarter account to make it easy for anyone with an Amazon account to send a donation. I'll then wire the money directly to a local charity such as the Red Cross or the social advocacy (not evangelical) arm of the Jesuits in the Philippines. I am researching organizations at this moment, but I understand that the Jesuits have very low overhead, so most of the money will go directly to aid.
I know $500 in less than two days is ambitious, but I have faith. Please spread the word and give what you can.

Funding Successful
This project successfully raised its funding goal on September 10, 2009.
Pledge $5 or more
I'll tell you more about the secret text message and my exhibition concept, and I'll write your name on the installation. Be a part of the installation, literally!
Pledge $10 or more
The above, and a postcard from my recent installation at Yale/Haskins Laboratories (recently covered in the Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/05/nyregion/05artsct.html)
Pledge $15 or more
All of the above, and a signed 5"x7" print of me with the installation and/or the installation and the NYC skyline. You'll get to see the images before I send them, but I'll have some during the day and some at night. It's essentially a unique shot of the NYC skyline.
Pledge $25 or more
All of the above (except the 5"x7" print), and a signed 8"x10" print of me with the installation and/or the installation and the NYC skyline. You'll get to see the images before I send them, but I'll have some during the day and some at night. It's essentially a unique shot of the NYC skyline.
Pledge $100 or more
All of the above, and either (1) a one-on-one on-site tour and explanation of my art project. We'll get peanuts or ice cream or whatnot. OR (2) a signed 16"x20" print of me with the installation and/or the installation and the NYC skyline. Your choice. If you choose the latter, you could also have the 5"x7" and 8"x10" version as well.
Pledge $300 or more
All of the above, and after the installation is finished, I'll ship the sign to you with a big thank you written on the back. It's going to be an official-looking metal sign, similar to a No Parking sign, but with custom language for the installation. Depending on your location, I may ask that you cover shipping.
