About this project

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Per Julia's request in light of the recent events in Haiti, we have changed the scope of this fundraiser to focus on relief efforts in the country. Your donation will be funneled directly to Partners in Health, and we are working to ensure the transaction fees from Amazon are waived.

In just her first year running the Arts, Culture and Technology Meetup, Julia Kaganskiy has created a must-attend monthly event for artists and arts professionals innovating with new technologies. She has quickly established herself as a leading arts educator dedicated to the future of arts and technology, and we can't thank her enough for doing this.

It's time for the group to go to the next level. Julia has big plans, but she can use our help. Julia is looking for a Canon 7D, a cutting-edge digital SLR that offers both photo and video in a compact package. The camera will allow her to document the group, start planning more ambitious projects involving digital art and ... well, stay tuned ...

Valued at approximately $2000 (taxes, etc. included), the Canon 7D would allow her to document and set up an upcoming project she is working on (you will hear more about that in February) and will be an essential tool for a dynamic arts educator like herself..
Hrag Vartanian and I have launched this Kickstarter as a THANK YOU to Julia for organizing and energizing the New York arts and technology scene. She is a pivotal voice in the scene and we all need to demonstrate our support of her work to network together the city's arts geeks.

Here's how you can help...DONATE...and there is a giving level for every budget.
