Update #24: The JET LAMP Tour
A bunch of people took me up on the Kickstarter deal for copies of GET LAMP. There's a few left to go out, but I hope everyone's enjoying the movie one way or another.
I wanted to stop in to say that a deal came up that I simply had to take, and I hope it gives me the chance to meet some of you.
Jet Blue, for the second year in a row, put out a promotion called the All You Can Jet special. For a single price, you can fly as much as you want to during a roughly 30 day period, starting today. I missed the first one last year, but I immediately bought this one, giving me unlimited flights for the month of September.
I have taken this opportunity to therefore book a GET LAMP showings tour, called JET LAMP. Here's the URL:
http://www.getlamp.com/jetlamp
The dates are filling up as we speak, and more will appear. The first is in Portland, Oregon tomorrow evening at the Backspace Cafe, next to the Ground Kontrol retro arcade. The next will be on Sunday in Salt Lake City, at a Cinema Pub called Brewvies. And so it will go.
I invite you to check out the page and come on out to chat.
Meanwhile, I still owe people stuff related to bonuses - the travel downtime during this tour will hopefully give me the time and focus to finally do it.

One of my backers politely mentioned there's been scant mention/update of the gifts/rewards mentioned in the kickstarter pledge drive. They're right. I will be fixing this posthaste. Thank you all for being polite about the delay.
Update #18: ASCII Weblog Entry
I just composed an ASCII Weblog Entry about the whole Kickstarter thing from my perspective. It's called "Kickstartup" and is located here: http://ascii.textfiles.com/archives/2381

Connected as Jason Scott (1029 friends)
Jason Scott runs TEXTFILES.COM, a collection of historical computer documents and files related to the bulletin board system era of online life. Over the years, he has moved into digital preservation, radical archiving, and public speaking on the hilarity and tragedy of the world of data. He attended Emerson College as a Film Major and then waited 10 years to begin work on a film about Bulletin Board Systems called "BBS: The Documentary". Finishing this, he turned his attention to a film about Text Adventures and Interactive Fiction called "GET LAMP". He is very, very talkative.
