About this project

teenVAG does not own the rights to "Sweet Blindess" by Laura Nyro.

Video by, Natasha Nuñez.

Founded in January of 2011 by Natasha Nuñez and Allison Levy, teenVAG is a self-published zine and creative platform used to promote the work of emerging female artists. Since its initial launch in May of 2011 teenVAG has become a collective of female artists working towards the exposition of women within the art world and the relevant topics that directly affect them as well as their contemporaries.

Expanding beyond the basis of photography to include a more diverse list of artistic mediums— teenVAG Issue #2 continues to offer a forum for female artists to reestablish their work amongst the greater dialogue of the art world. With the introduction of the second issue and subsequent exhibition, teenVAG reiterates the beauty of a project solely run and participated in by females.

teenVAG Issue # 2 features work by: Aimee Brodeur, Elizabeth Jaeger, Olivia Locher, Carly Mark, Katie Miller, Anamaria Morris,  Rebecca Richard, Isabelle Sirelius, Brooke Ellen Taylor, Alexandra Velasco, and Jessica Williams

With your help, teenVAG will raise $5,000 to aid in the printing, assembling, and distribution of Issue #2 as well as a corresponding exhibition both scheduled for December 2011.

In January of 2011, Natasha Nuñez and Allison Levy began work on the zine teenVAG. The desire to create an outlet that would explore the inspiring dynamic amongst their female contemporaries living in New York was the initial motivation in the conceptualization of the self-published zine.

teenVAG began as an idea and blossomed into an entity unto itself. The curated body of work is a reflection of the progression of women's roles in our culture and celebrates in essence the portrayal of girls as their own ideal.

Launched in May of 2011, along with a corresponding exhibition, teenVAG Issue #1 was welcomed to a positive response. Featured in BULLETT Media, Dazed Digital, Dossier Journal blog, Viceland, and MilkMADE- teenVAG continues to receive recognition as a solely female art publication.
