Hey y'all, this year I've been given the opportunity to perform alongside my peers at one of the biggest festivals in R&B music, the Essence Festival held in my hometown, New Orleans, LA http://www.essence.com (listed in alphabetical order). This festival has over 400,000 in attendance every year and sets the stage for some of the biggest names in Urban Adult Contemporary music. I'm reaching out to the friends of my music to help me support my journey to Essence 2012. My journey in music has been documented over many years of working hard and funding my own campaigns through photos and videos taken as far back to when I was signed to TVT Records (former home of Lil Jon & Pitbull). I can recall wrapping my personal vehicle with my image and purchasing promo materials (cds, t-shirts, towels, etc.) during a tour supporting Cee-lo and Tweet because the label didn’t provide funding for it. I have always believed in myself, therefore, I invest in myself! This year, thanks to Kickstarter.com I'm looking to the friends of my music to be apart of this movement. Your support and honesty has always kept me going. I accepted the invitation to perform at Essence 2012 knowing it was time to release the LUXURIOUSunderGRIND Documentary. Many don't realize that you can be in the right place at the right time but unless opportunity meets proper finances, things can fall apart. This documentary can be helpful for upcoming artist to see, as well, give the friends of my music an understanding of the journey I’ve been on since my debut album COMPLEX SIMPLICITY. For Essence 2012 I need flights, hotel rooms, funding for band members, rehearsal, merchandise, etc. I would like to document this performance as the last stop on the LUXURIOUSunderGRIND Documentary. With your support and blessings I'll be able to deliver my performance at Essence 2012 and also have the necessary funding to edit and complete post work on the documentary for you all to see the fruits of our labor. The LUXURIOUSunderGRIND Documentary will be available online for free to all that make a pledge to my Kickstarter and each that donate will be listed as associate producers. Other incentives range to music, signed cds, even intimate performances. I am notorious for giving away free music and this is the first time I've ever asked fans of my music to fund any project of mine. I’m very excited about this!!!! Let’s make it happen!
