Hey all!
Lots of exciting things to announce and progress to share so I'll divide this update (and probably future updates) into a few main points.
- New Developer (but not really)
- Kickstarter Rewards
- Game Progress
NEW DEVELOPER
Don't be scared by this, the game is being created in exactly the same way it always has been and by the same people, we're just changing our group name! The developer was previously 'Jazza Studios' (operated by me, Jazza), but Ortus has become so large and the group so vital (and we work together so much anyway) that we decided to create an identity together to release Ortus under, and create future games as! 'Elvidian Entertainment'!

KICKSTARTER REWARDS
(To kickstarter backers only) I've sent out surveys to collect a majority of the information needed to create your in-game rewards. We are not implementing them YET (we need EVERYONES information first) so make sure you go fill in your survey if you haven't, to the best of your ability, and message me if you have any requests or comments!
GAME PROGRESS
It's a brand new year and we're getting the motor started on Ortus. We received our funding from kickstarter, it has been divided and rests in our bank accounts paying our bills away as we wrestle with the mighty task of making the best RPG we can! We are extremely grateful for the help you guys have given us.
ZEEDOX has been modelling and texturing some awesome castle models for the game, giving it that ever-so-epic feel as the bulk of the game is being rigged continually.
MOONKEY has recently finished the back-end code and editor functions for us to rig companion NPC's to allow for rich stories to unfold with them as you play the game, approached, brawls, and much more awesome stuff.
ADAM has been writing some incredible companion NPC's, each with a unique story and personality, there will be a minimum of 15 in the game, and that is a LOT as you will see when you get the opportunity to see how jam-packed with personality and fun they are!
I (JAZZA) have been rigging the game. This is a long arduous process is it involves creating map environments (forests, dungeons, houses, cities etc) and placing events and NPC's to react with you every time you play (things like approaches, cutscenes, area transitions, etc). The first half of the game has been rigged quite extensively and is playable, and my task is now to do the same for the second half.
Kamikaye has been creating awesome environment images as usual, some of the newer ones are of capital cities but we'll hold them back so we don't give all the cool stuff away too soon!
That's it for now ladies and gentlemen, we're working hard and can promise you your faith in us is not misplaces. There will be an extensive update every month so you know our challenges and triumphs, all the way up until you can join us for Beta Testing Time!

All of the above, and you get to help design your own NPC, making you a permanent part of a game that will be played by millions! Name a character after yourself, a friend, or one of your own roleplay characters! (Keeping in mind we will work with you to make sure it fits with our game setting/theme properly)
All of the above, and your NPC is upgraded to be able to give a quest! Thousands of people will meet your character and be asked to accomplish a task for a reward.
All of the above, and the NPC quest is given depth. The quest becomes a 'chain quest', involving several more NPC's you will assist in creating, a few 'back and forth' tasks with rewards and loot!
(check THIS out) All of the above, and you work with me directly to design you own breed of monster in the game!! (no artistic talent required, only imagination, I'll work from your descriptions or ideas to make something awesome!). Yes, millions of players will encounter that creature you've always imagined in your head, and fight it to the death! BONUS REWARD (newly added!): Our environment artist will hand craft a custom house/residence for your NPC character to live in! (that, or something else like a dungeon or mansion etc.)
All of the above, and you will be sent a one-of-a-kind hand crafted and signed book (by the 4 creators), featuring tons of information on the setting and conceptualization on the game, as well as the new credit title "Associate Producer".
All of the above, and 3xPoster pack, one of which will feature a painted image of your character in a pose/setting of your choice, as well as a personal video from the story directors about the process of creating and rigging your character.
All of the above, and (this is a BIGGIE) you will work directly with our writer, to create a 'companion NPC'. There are only 10 of these so far in the game. They are carefully crafted NPC's that players can convince to join them on their journey, with their own fighting style, abilities, relationship traits and quests. They also get their own 'ending path' clip when someone finishes the game.
All of the above, (companion NPC exempt, but you still get the custom NPC with a massive quest and location) PLUS you get to work directly with the game directors to create your own 'guild' in the game, so in one of the capital cities there will stand your own unique (LARGE) building with your own unique crest, with a lot of member NPCs and quests (all custom!), not to mention this guild will become a permanent part of the game's culture and history!
-----(COMMERCIAL INTEREST ONLY!)----- A uniquely produced version of the game sitelocked to your website, delivered after the Armor-Games exclusive release period (one month). It will incorporate and support your websites API's and the game will include your websites intro animation and logo on main menu. ----- All public versions of the game will also feature your company title early in the credits as 'Supported by' including your logo and link.
