What is our project?

DIY419 TV is a public-access television show for broadcast in the Greater Toledo area to educate and promote DIY art & culture. Episodes will feature DIY how-to’s, projects, art & performances, and showcase regional hackerspaces.

Our goal is to promote the DIY movement by demonstrating sustainability and experimentation through tool skills and electronics; as well as, showcasing DIY art & culture in the Greater Toledo area.


What will we do?

DIY419 TV will organize and facilitate a DIY workshop with area makers/artists and capture video footage for episode how-to’s.

DIY419 TV will videotape local DIY projects, art installations, performances, and regional hackerspaces.

DIY419 TV will produce 6 - 30 minute episodes and distribute on local cable providers' public-access channels.

Why are we doing it?

We participate in and support the DIY movement -- the re-introduction of the old pattern of personal involvement and use of tool skills in upkeep of any material aspect of living. 

We are excited by how we have seen the DIY movement help Detroit recapture it's creative energy and passion for making things.  Toledo is recovering from similar post-industrial damages and we hope that we can help bring some of that same creative energy and “do it yourself” spirit to our region.

What can you do?

DIY419 TV is seeking funding through Kickstarter.com.  So far we've been working hard to make everything happen on our own: we've begun production and are showcasing our efforts at Maker Faire Detroit being held at The Henry Ford Museum. 

Your funding will help provide workshop supplies, public-access fees, and cover marketing costs.  And it means a lot when someone who's interested lends a hand.

In the right hand side, you can see different amounts of "Pledge," which indicates monetary investment. You can always pledge higher than the listed number -- it will help us make DIY419 TV even better!
