About this project
Hello friends!
I'm creating a music album, my second actually. The songs are written (by me, as well as Carey Lynne - an awesome collaborator on one of the songs), arranged and produced (by the outstanding Randy Thorderson), and the album recording is nearly complete! Still left to do:
- DONE - Finish recording (backing vocals, etc.)
- DONE - Mixing
- DONE - Mastering
- Album design and duplication
- Professional Music Video Creation
- Hire Marketing Guru
- and Pay everyone!
Your much appreciated donations are what will ensure this project is completed and done right! The current requested funding amount ($12,000) will cover the remaining album production as well as one music video, and a little bit of marketing to get the word out. I know that is a ton of money, but it is actually barely enough to make the album, video, and do any sort of marketing.
You Can Make It Happen!
If this project turns out to be inspiring to you, and enough other people, any donations above the goal level will go towards additional music videos and conceivably a performance tour. The more people who choose to join me in creating the album, the more fun we are going to have making music and videos together!
The first album was an incredible experience to make, and along the way I have met wonderful people, many of whom have become great friends. I hope this album will reach an even wider audience and that the music will be a benefit to someone's life, somewhere.
The Sound
Wondering how you can get the sound 'when it's only in a magazine?' You can take a listen to songs from the first album 'Ghost Town' to get a feel (I recommend 'Spring Fever', 'Ghost Town' and 'Paint Me' among others), www.cdbaby.com/cd/tamirene or www.jango.com/music/tami+rene, but keep in mind that we are going for a bit of a different style on 'Take It Back' so don't expect more of the same.
The overall album style of 'Take It Back' can be described as Contemporary Blues-Rock. You will enjoy plenty of variety, some modern musical elements, as well as some rocking blues arrangements, and topics/stories that could have a tendency to make you get up on stage and sing the blues too.

Tami René is helping to re-define the indie, Singer/Songwriter classification by unabashedly including a wide variety of musical influences in her sound.
Her 2009 debut album, "Ghost Town", incorporates jazz-rock styled arrangements with uniquely captivating vocals. "Spring Fever" emerged as a favorite among many fans and garnered top 10 placement on internet radio ratings, maintaining placement over several months. "Taboo" was selected for live radio play in Europe with coverage in France, Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium.
An exciting new blues-rock, suburban-funk styled album release is expected in late 2010.
With the assistance of talented Arranger/Producer, Randy Thorderson - www.randythorderson.com, Tami's songwriting efforts have come to fruition.
