Friends of the American Craftsman Project-

My name is Tadd Myers and I’m a commercial photographer located in Grapevine, TX.  Over my career I have worked on many different personal projects including Life of a Grandfather (chronicling the life of Cecil Lambert Toombs, my Grandfather), a medical mission trip to Honduras in 2000, and a week aboard the USS Benfold Naval Destroyer the week of 9/11/2001.  Four years ago I started my current personal photographic project that has developed into a deep felt passion of mine. 

The American Craftsman Project is a celebration of the many companies and individuals that still handcraft beautiful products here in America.  I am currently in discussions with a publisher about the creation of an American Craftsman Project book.   I am posting the project on Kickstarter in order to do two things. 

1)            I’m hoping to raise funds in order to pay for a writer to compose a small essay for each company/craftsman for the book.  Since I am the author presenting this to the publisher I am responsible for supplying the written content for the book. This expense should cost roughly $12,000.

2)            I also still need to travel on 3-4 additional trips to different parts of the country in order to expand and diversify the project.

*Any excess funds will be used to continue promoting and diversifying the project.

Status of Book Publishing:

**As of June, 2012 we are discussing a book proposal with a publisher, but do not have a contract as of yet.  The delivery of a signed book (offered in the $135 level or higher) is contingent upon the signing of a contract.  I am hoping that we will have a contract with a credible publisher by Sept., 2012 for a target distribution of the Fall, 2013 or Spring, 2014.

I truly appreciate your support and interest in The American Craftsman Project!  Together we can raise awareness for these amazing companies and individuals and tell their story.
