Quick Update!
We've been out filming and testing a lot more lately which has been a welcome break from the office. The other week we put together this short video from a local band playing in town - the rifleman. We had the Genie up on an elevated dolly doing time lapses all night as well as filming other bits and pieces. We've also stacked quite a bit more footage from some other events around town so will be posting more videos soon including various tests and feature videos.

@Thomas ordered mine yesterday and i'll be trying the go pro on the Genie also :)

Cheers guys. No, the GoPro doesn't have an input for a cable, but they are releasing a wireless remote soon.
No worries.
Thanks again for your comments, super helpful.

Hey Thomas...
Settings on the camera are full manual.. I don't believe the Gopro has an input for a cable to trigger a photo so i'm not sure if it could be connected. It could be setup to shoot time lapse independently of the Genie and the Genie could move without communicating to the Gopro if you wanted to use it.
Hope this helps
Thanks!
Ben

Ok... Very sorry, but I have one more question (promise). Will the Genie work with a GoPro HD Hero 2?
Creator Thomas Ryan on May 27, 2012
Thanks for the reply.
So, do you have the settings on full manual? Locking the mirror up can help prolong the life of the camera, most of them only have a certain number of actuations... Some have about 150000 actuations, so it wouldn't take long to destroy the shutter mechanism (I think this is right?). Locking the mirror up means you first compose your shot, then lock up the mirror and let the time-lapse fly.
Thanks again for your response.

Hey Thomas...
We used a Canon 60D for shooting video with a 24mm and 50mm nikon prime and for the Time lapses we had a 5D mark 2 with a 16-35mm lens.
Im not exactly sure whats involved with locking the mirror but for the time lapses the Genie moves and stops to shoot a photo.. Does this answer your question??
Thanks!

Hey.
What camera do you guys use, and do you lock up the mirror after composing the shot?
