Dear Kickstarter Backers,
Steamstock has come a long way since it was just a gleam in the eye of a few steampunks, thanks largely to your support in our infancy. We now have 13 top-notch bands scheduled to perform!

We also have an ever-growing list of cirque and variety performers, which you can follow online:

Hotels:
For those of you who aren’t located near Richmond, we’ve made arrangements with two local hotels to provided discounted rates to our group:
http://www.steamstock.org/hotels.html
Kickstarter Rewards:
We hope that by now most of you have received your rewards. If you’ve not, please keep in mind: these are artisans who believed in the cause and donated their time to make the prizes in the same way that you donated the money, so we're VERY thankful to them as well for everything that they've given to get us off the ground. That said, please let us know if you’ve not yet received your reward--we want to make sure you’ve not been forgotten or fallen through the cracks. To those of you who didn’t receive your rewards by the projected times (or haven’t yet received them), we apologise, and we thank you for your patience.
Tickets:
If your Kickstarter reward package included a ticket, your name will be on a list at the door (and you’ll also get free admission to Willits Kinetic Carnivale (http://www.kineticcarnivale.com/) -- you’ll not receive a physical ticket to either of these. In both instances, they’ll be under the names that you provided in the Kickstarter reward survey (or when purchasing tickets through FanFueled).
If your package did not include a ticket, or if you or your friends would like to purchase additional tickets, please note that our ticket price will be going up soon!
Due to unexpectedly high insurance costs and an exceedingly large cast of performers, we find ourselves needing to raise the pre-sale ticket price from $37.50 to $42.00 (likewise, the Steamstock / PEERS Steampunktoberfest bundle will increase to $52.00). This price increase will take effect at 11:59 pm, Pacific Daylight Time, on Friday, September 7th.
When inviting friends, don’t forget to use your unique URL that was included in your FanFueled confirmation email so you can earn rewards! If you’re not yet a ticket-holder (or if you just can’t be bothered to dig up that confirmation email), tickets can be purchased here:
http://www.steamstock.org/tickets.html
You (or anyone else who wants to) can also stop by our table at the Willits Kinetic Carnivale this weekend to purchase tickets for $40.00 each (the same price they are now after service charges). Or you can just stop by to say hello--we’d love to see your smiling faces! The Kinetic Carnivale has done a lot to support Steamstock, and we hope that you will support them in return. Information about the event, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 8th and 9th, can be found here:
http://www.kineticcarnivale.com/
As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions, and we hope to see you on October 7th for what is certain to be an event of unparalleled awesomeness.
Swing Goth and the Steam Federation
Here it is. This is the big one. Thomas Dolby has agreed to come on
board. But we need your help to make it happen. We've been sitting on
this for a while because we needed the ticket sales under our belt to
be able to afford it. But yesterday we realized we should probably
tell you what's at stake and you'd probably help us!
We need 40 ticket sales by July 29th. He's holding the date, but we
have to raise the funds. To help, we've implemented a discount code.
The first 40 people to buy tickets and enter the discount code DOLBY
save $1!
AND, if you haven't heard about Thomas Dolby, you're missing out!
Here's a YouTube playlist:
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1FDFDB4BCA9DF917 to get your
started.
His albums are full of odes to swing, allegories of World War II,
submarines, airplanes, blimps and tributes to radio and science! He's
one of the original "retro futurists" in music, and a maker of a man
who has forged his own instruments for decades.

Also, since we started, the line-up has increased drastically to include:
Okay, Steamstock Kickstarters, we're almost ready to launch, but before we do, we want you to give you a chance to be the first people on board with tickets and here's why:We're using a revolutionary new ticket vendor called FanFueled.
They've built a unique site that rewards our customers (and our backers) for doing what you love, namely sharing exciting things with your friends! In your order confirmation, you'll see a unique Event link that you can share with your friends. If someone purchases a ticket through that link, FanFueled pays you commission. (You can use your rewards towards future purchases or you can cash out).
The best part about FanFueled is that they can track your influence across multiple degrees of separation, so if a friend buys from your link and then shares with his or her friend, you still get rewarded. The earlier you share, the more you can earn!
Here's how:
1- If you were one of our Kickstarter backers that chose the option of getting a ticket, then you should soon receive a "purchase confirmation" email from Fanfueled. There will be a link included in that email, which will take you to the site. Please follow it familiarize yourself the site and how it works and then feel free to spread the word to your friends!
2- If you didn't choose a ticket to the show as one of your rewards, don't worry, you can still be one of the first to buy a ticket, but go now, because we're officially launching on July 4th. THEN, share the event with your friends. Following your transaction, you'll be able to share your link directly to Facebook or Twitter.
The reason we're holding off on the official announcement is because we think this event is as much about the people in attendance, as it is about the people performing and, we'd rather that the way people first hear of this event is through you.
Oh, but it gets better, for every 100 tickets that we sell, we'll give someone 2 free tickets, and... once we've lined up an option for boats, we'll be giving away seats to the people who referred the most people and really we can just go on and on about how awesome it's going to be.... even BEFORE the event starts, and the more sales we can get early on, the better acts we can bring in for the show.
Thank you so much for coming on board and making this happen, this is going to be AMAZING!
Ladies and Gentlemen, Children of All Ages:
We did it!!!
Thanks to your enthusiastic support, the Kickstarter for Steamstock - The Steampunk Music Festival surpassed our base funding goal of $3,000 by over $1,000, reaching our secondary goal of $4,000! We are so grateful to the Steampunk community for your outpouring of support—thank you. We have every confidence that the event we'll be working together to present will be of unprecedented awesomeness.
And, since we reached our $4,000 goal, we are proud to announce that we will be arranging nautical transit to the festival! This will be a bit of a challenge, as the event will take place during Fleet Week, but Steampunks have never been known to shy away from challenges. Details on boat transport will be posted as they become available. The best way to stay up to date is to:
If you donated to the project, we will be contacting you this weekend to coordinate getting your your rewards. We are now in the process of negotiating with partners and lining up the details to get ticketing off the ground. We hope to have tickets available on or around July 4th.
For now, thank you once again for your support, and we hope to see you at the Craneway Pavilion on October 7th!
Chronologically yours,
Swing Goth and the Steam Federation
