We're going to have a series of games! What fun! The first two are Hit the Mark sort of games and the third one is a Guess the Number game. Fun and easy with great prizes like T-shirts, genuine ivory tusks and a beautiful coffee mug like those shown in the photo below (See update #10 if you're reading this in email.)
So let the games begin...
Game #1: Hit That Number - Pork Cut Chart T-shirts
Open to both new backers and old backers who can increase their pledge at the right moment to push us up over special numbers. The only caveat is no gaming the system by decreasing and then increasing your pledge or the like, these should be real, honest pledges.
We've already done this twice in a surprise manner with the $10,000 mark which got a T-shirt to Whit and the 50% mark which a T-shirt to Lori. This time I'm revealing the upcoming special numbers.
Future special numbers to hit:
$15,000 which is coming up soon,
$20,000 and then
$25,000 which is our 100% funding goal. If we make that then maybe we'll do some more. The sky's the limit.
Additionally, I have picked six more mystery numbers that are between here and there which I'll reveal as backers pledge across those boundaries, just to make it even more fun. You never know when you might hit one of these numbers so pledge today. You might even be able to hit two numbers at once and get two shirts if you do a big pledge. What are the numbers? That's my secret but as long time blog readers know I enjoy prime numbers, sharp numbers, smooth numbers and all sorts of interesting math. Shepherd's Pi anyone? Realize that pig farmers have to thing about something while herding their animals across the mountains...might as well be math!
So there are nine T-shirt opportunities coming up. Game #2: Hit 100% Funding in 10 Days - Ivory Tusks
It took us just 11 days to get to 50% of our funding goal - That was amazing! Thank you everyone for all your confidence and pushing to make that happen. There was dancing on Sugar Mountain when the number blew past! So, can we make the other 50% to bring us to full funding in just 10 days, beating the 11 day record?
If we can hit that goal then EVERYONE who has pledged by then is a winner in this game. What I'll do is add a genuine ivory pastured pig tusk from our herd to the rewards package of every single backer who is having a physical product shipped to them - this avoids additional separate shipping costs. For people just getting the download-ables or postcards I'll make a downloadable photo of tusks for them.
No, the tusk won't be one of those monster huge ones (labeled A in the photo in the rewards descriptions bottom left side of main project page). The tusks for this will be little tusks. They will still be very cool - every tusk is unique and a great conversation piece. Bigger pledges will get the biggest of the little tusks.
Yes, again, EVERYONE, pledging by the 100% mark gets this prize, IF we make it to $25,000 by mid-night of Saturday, April 21st. You can help make this happen by spreading the word about our project to family, friends, co-workers, strangers, tweeting, on your blog, Facebook, etc. Do you know ten people who don't know about this project yet, or who haven't pledged yet? If everybody tells ten people we should hit that goal easily and then everyone, including the new backers by the 100% funded mark, get this great extra bonus reward! This prize is available to new backers, existing backers, in the US and International.
Game #3: Guess the Funded Backer Count - Big Pig Mug
This fun little game is a guessing game and there will be just one winner. Entering is easy... How many people do you think will win in game #2 above? That is to say, how many backers will we have when we cross the $25,000 100% funded mark? Leave a comment on this update with your guess and then after we hit that mark I'll look through the comments to find the earliest guess that got it right without going over.
