About this project
My name is Chris and I'm a musician based in San Francisco.
Six months ago my dad died trekking in the Himalayas.
Three weeks later my first baby was born.
That's alot!
To make sense of it all I composed my first string quartet.
Please help me record and perform it for you!
My goals:
1. Hire four classically-trained musicians.
2. Record in a local studio and produce CDs.
3. Perform at a local concert hall.
In addition to supporting new music, your donations will help provide employment for several deserving artists:
1. Three workdays of living wage (rehearsal, recording, performance) for two violinists, one violist, and one cellist.
2. Support for the Capp Street Concert Hall at Community Music Center, a non-profit located in the Mission District, San Francisco.
3. One workday of living wage for an engineer at Cedub Studio, located in Oakland.
4. Support for Kickstarter -- this website -- a cool new way for artists and benefactors to meet and make beautiful things together.
My dad's birthday is August 18, and this would be a very cool way to remember him near that day. The concert is tentatively scheduled for Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 4PM.
