Shipping has started!
Hey Kickstarter,
Thanks for working with us over the last half year!
We've shipped out an initial batch of 30 of the $80 kits! If you've received them, you can Read the Assembly Instructions!
We'll be shipping more $80 kits, then the $100 assembled speakers, then $60, $40, and $20 kits.
Kits without Power Supply
If you ordered a $60 kit, you might want to know what power supply you need.
We're currently shipping a 12V 5A power supply with a connector of 5.5mm in diameter, and a 2mm contact. We include the other side of the connector with the kit so it's easy to plug in. We've seen the plasma speaker use 2-4A in normal use depending on how high you turn it on.
If you need a power supply of your own, we bought a few extras for you. If you order through this link, we can ship it with your Kickstarter order if you order before Monday night 5PM PDT.
Unassembled Kits
We've started to open sales of unassembled kits as well. If you haven't yet bought a kit, and would like one, you can get one for $80. We'll be selling it for $80 until were done shipping to our original backers, and then raising the price to $100.
Thanks!

Thanks for supporting us! We'll include your name in the instruction manual as a thank you!
Estimated delivery: Nov 2011Pledge $20 or more

For $20, you get the circuit board itself. This will allow you to use your own electrical components to build your own plasma speaker (part specs will be included in the instruction manual).
Estimated delivery: Nov 2011Pledge $40 or more
8 backers
For $40, you can get the printed board and the components that go in it. You will still need a 12V power supply and flyback transformer to complete the plasma speaker. This level isn't recommended if you're new to putting together circuits, since we won't be able to offer much guidance on connecting the power/transformer.
Estimated delivery: Nov 2011Pledge $60 or more

For $60 you get everything but the 12-volt power supply. This includes the printed board, electrical components and flyback transformer.
Estimated delivery: Nov 2011Pledge $80 or more

For $80, you get the complete kit - everything you need to build your own plasma speaker. This is perfect for people interested in learning more about electrical engineering first-hand.
Estimated delivery: Nov 2011Pledge $100 or more
58 backers
For $100, we'll assemble the plasma speaker for you. One complete kit, delivered straight to your door.
Estimated delivery: Nov 2011Pledge $320 or more

For $320, we'll send you five kits. This is perfect if you're running a workshop or class in electrical engineering or circuit design. This is a savings of $80; essentially one free kit!
Estimated delivery: Nov 2011Pledge $400 or more

For $400, we'll send you five fully assembled speakers; a savings of $100. You could build a 5.1 surround sound system (hey, more ridiculous things have been done!), use them to demo electrical concepts to a physics class, or just leave them in the box, satisfied that you have more plasma speakers than 99.9999% of the population.
Estimated delivery: Nov 2011

No instructions. 404's everywhere. I was waiting to build, now I can't. :(

Ah I now see that it's posted on Reddit, and for some reason now works:

I also have no pictures in the instructions when printed. A PDF is easy to do, so it would be great if it were possible to have instructions referring to images that are actually there...
Creator gerrit on May 25, 2012
just got your kit today.
wil be assembling it over the weekend!!
looking forward to test it.
couple of questions:
can I buy more? if yes where? how?
could you add the istructions as a pdf?
could you make your box plans available? I'd like to make a box out of plexi glass
Thanks!!!!
Gerrit

I have tried to PRINT the instructions and all pics disappear.
Can you possibly do the instructions in a more printer friendly format. Cheers, Aris

Got my kit today. Just completed construction; no issues! Easy! Techno music has never sounded and looked so true to form! Very impressed, StudentRND! Well done! Thank you for making my first KickStarter such a success! Looking forward to your next adventure! Cheers - Adam

Any shipping made it out to Canada yet? I haven't seen anything yet.
Creator Eric Falsken on May 4, 2012
Found the first problem with the instructions. You should most absolutely assemble the audio input cable BEFORE the power cables. Ideally even before screwing the audio control into the side board (but make sure you thread it through the hole). My kit didn't come with Red/Black wires, but a pair of flimsy red/white wires instead.

I got mine!

Stephen - Kickstarter orders are going first, and then the later ones. We are starting with the $80 full kits and working down the ladder. The pre-assembled ones should be going soon too. All of the boxes are packed.
Daniel - the old link pointed to the wrong place. I've updated it now; you can view it at http://xwl.me/plasmaspeaker. Sorry about that.
Creator Daniel Valdez on April 29, 2012
Link for the instructions appears to be broken. Is there a mirror somewhere?
Creator Stephen Holinaty on April 23, 2012
--the unassembled kits that you have just put on sale... will those be shipping before the rest of the kickstarter kits? or will you be filling the kickstarter orders before the new orders?
Creator Stephen Holinaty on April 22, 2012
any chance of an update on where you're at with the shipping? Anxious to start playing around with this.

Guys I missed the 5PM cutoff for the power supply - is it really too late? Can I get it shipped separately to my office in CA? I'll pick it up in a few weeks.
Creator Simon on April 16, 2012
Hotdamn those casings look amazing, really great job guys.
Creator Gavin Maxwell on April 13, 2012
The instructions are great, but was this an intended joke: "Most importantly, do noDONATE TO STUDENTRND" That's exactly what I see... if it's a joke it's funny, if not... you might wanna have a look at it.. :)
Creator Adam and Celia on April 13, 2012
This is the first time I've seen the full speaker in all its glory. I can easily say that it has exceeded my expectations!! Well done, guys! P.S. Good call on ordering extra power supplies for those of us that didn't originally request one. I just picked one up!
Again, Thank you very much!!
Creator StudentRND on April 13, 2012
@Gavin: The power supply will take 100-240V. It has a input cable that looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/kxk6p.png. We don't include it with the power supply (since it wasn't included when we ordered it), but from what I hear, those types of cables are pretty common everywhere.
Creator Gavin Maxwell on April 12, 2012
What's the input of the power supply look like? I ordered the $60 kit (sans power supply), but the price on your supply's seems quite good. Just want to make sure I can easily plug it in in Australia.
Creator Eric Falsken on April 12, 2012
I wanted to assemble my own. But these are so cool, I want stereo, so ordered a second! You should ship them with "I (heart) Plasma" bumper stickers!
