On September 26, at 7:49 p.m., a woman named Robin pledged $25 to Street Books, and pushed us just over our $4,000 goal. Thank you so much, Robin, and thank you to all of you who have taken the time to pledge to the Street Books project. In just two weeks, with the help of people like you (some of whom we know and love, others we've never met, but love, love) we were able to make our goal. 

Because our campaign runs through October 12th, we will continue to spread the word about Street Books (and invite you to do the same). Every dollar we make beyond our goal will go directly to funding our fall and winter library shifts. Here's what that looks like:

$2.75 buys a used copy of a Louis L'Amour paperback

$7.99 buys used contemporary fiction, memoirs and graphic novels from Powells

$15 pays a street librarian for an hour of book-lending and patron support

We also hope to hire patrons to assist with book donations and organization, and having money in the bank ensures we'll be able to compensate them for their work.

Again, our most sincere thanks to all of you who have gotten behind us this fall, and dedicated your dollars to us. We promise to make you proud. And if you feel up to helping us spread the word about our last push for donations, between now and October 12th, please do.
