A dance/art film project by Native American Choreographer Rosy Simas and Japanese-American photographer/filmmaker Douglas Beasley.
Threshold, is a dance/art film collaboration between Native American Choreographer Rosy Simas and Japanese-American photographer/filmmaker Douglas Beasley, that explores bringing the invisible world into the visible through intersecting of movement and natural landscape.
Throughout our lives we cross thresholds. If we are attentive when we cross, the journey can be transformative, it can connect us with our true nature and bring us home into our hearts.
Simas and Beasley are hoping you will join them in creating this work. Your support helps pay the dancers, the editor, the directors, designer, DVD production costs, PR materials, equipment rental and space rental for the private screenings. It takes this whole crew of people AND YOU to make this work of art happen.

This project will assist both Rosy and Doug in taking critical next steps in their careers. A dance film, being more portable and reproducible than a dance production, will allow Rosy to gain national/international exposure for her dance work. For Doug, this project will expand and integrate his background in still photography into filmmaking.
How can we do this for only $3,500? We can't. Our total production budget is $12,500. We received a $8,000 Cultural Partnership Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board and $1,000 in individual donations. This seed money has been essential in getting this project off the ground but we need your help to finish our project.
