The Story Pirates take stories written by kids and turn them into a show; now we're turning a story into a cartoon!
The Story Pirates are adapting a story written by 8-year-old Julia Isabel Padro into a cartoon! The story is entitled "Diary of a Blueberry." It's a Kafka-esque tale written from the perspective of a fruit.
The titular blueberry is voiced by Kristen Schaal from Flight of the Conchords, Toy Story 3 and Bob's Burgers.
We've recorded the voices, we've bought the equipment and we've taken classes at SVA to learn animation. Now all we need to do is pay for it all... that's where you can help!
$5000 will cover the cost of buying the equipment and paying for continuing education courses. It won't cover the cost of the 300+ hours we spent making the cartoon, but hey, we're used to that!
Any additional funds over $5000 will be used to adapt more stories written by kids into cartoons.
The Story Pirates are a 501(c)3 not-for-profit company. Contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
