So, What Is This Thing?

Above is the trailer for the short film HAIRCUT, shot on location in St. Louis, MO and Fenton, MO. HAIRCUT is a short film about friendship, and what it means to grow up when you are a girl.

Production for HAIRCUT is entirely finished, and it has already enjoyed a sneak preview screening at the Greenville Illinois Film Festival, as a part of the Our Common Ground Art Walk.

Working with a small cast and crew to making low/no budget movies is awesome, but there is one part of short-film-making that you cannot avoid spending money on- festival submission fees.

So, our cast and crew are reaching out to you, Kickstarter Friends, to help get this movie seen.

Where Is My Money Going?

$400 is the goal for this campaign. This will cover cost of dvds and beta tapes, packaging, shipping, and entry fees to the following festivals:

Awesome, But Why These Festivals?

Festivals were chosen based on their relative affordability, their focus on short subject matter or on women filmmakers, and personal ties to the festival locations. We feel HAIRCUT fits the mission of all of these fests to show great, independent short film. We've also verified via Without A Box that HAIRCUT meets all qualifications for the short films category for each festival.

Bonus:

If we manage to raise more than the initial $400, all additional money will be used to submit HAIRCUT to festivals with higher entry fees, starting with:
