I received my pens about a week ago after much anticipation. I'm a HUGE fan. I get comments all the time.
I've backed many kickstarter projects, and some have taken quite a while for me to recieve, but I'm very happy with the P1. Can it be improved? Sure. But it's awesome. For those that haven't received an email response yet, Steve may take a bit to respond, but HE DOES RESPOND. I mean, really, give a guy a break, his goal was for a mere 7Grand and he got like 13X that.
Every Kickstarter project I'm a part of, the comment section ends up being a b*tch and complain forum. We all signed up to get this funded. Few of us know what it means to go from idea to company overnight. Jeesh.

Hi Patrick - sorry for the drop in the email response after I got your question - but a new pen has been shipped (second one, perhaps we messed something up on the label the first time - as we've had no issues in the US otherwise). Let me see if I can get an exact ship date from the person helping me out as I think it should have arrived by now. Will email you.

Hey Steve. Just a note, one (not both just one) of my pens seemed to have the flow problem, but after taking the back cap off and putting it back it has not had the problem since. Not sure if it will develop again, but definately usable enough that I don't plan to drill holes, as I have been using it LOTS to get a feel for any issues. Question, now that this kickstart is on it's way to finishing, any news on when more pens will be available through an online store?

@Martin - yeah, the very fine point takes some getting used to. I tried the 0.3mm and 0.5mm and settled on the 0.4mm for my tastes - but definitely not your 'normal' tip!

I'm curious if there was any sort of tracking numbers or such assigned to these items so that we can have an idea where they are. As of 1/24/2013, I still do not have my pen. I checked my response and everything was accurate for the address and such, curious if there is any sort of update on that end.

Got my pens and I like the build quality. The only problem which I have some times is the airflow. The 0.4 mm is for my taste a little to thin, but I can change it, so no big deal.

@Andreas - thanks - sorry if my response sounded like I was offended - not at all! Was just trying to get out a response quickly and may have come off a bit direct. Let's say it has certainly been full of lessons for me - and I've yet to find any of the criticism unfair! There are definitely a number of things I'd do differently if I were starting over. Some would have made the time to shipping faster and others would have been around setting up a few things to make communication / checking in easier for folks. Let's just say I won't be doing another kickstarter project any time soon - but if I ever get the time to do it - you'll see some vast improvements :) Thanks for the feedback and support - it has been a crazy journey and I've learned a ton - most importantly how amazing the 1,593 backers really are!

@Steve I didn't mean to offend you! I appreciate your work, it's awesome, it rocks, it's gorgeous... I truly love it! Just wanted to help you (and me...) and any of your future projects, by showing you the little problem "transparency" combined with a multi-shot project. I know that I am not an expert, nor have the experience - but any tool (name it eg website, where you could query your state, get an insight of the shipping/project-process) would have made things much clearer and a lot of frustration would have been scattered (and some of your update-reports would have been obsolete). Nevertheless, it was/is an amazing journey and I am deeply resepectful towards your work, effort, kindness ...

@fizz - we are down to the last 30 or so packages to go. yours has been shipped - actually the same say as @magestik's that arrived in France yesterday - so should be any day now!
@Andreas - we had about 150 packages that we hand-filled out customs forms for in early December (hand cramps galore!). We'd gotten those customs forms over the summer and used them with no problems previously. Unfortunately by the time my friends (helping with shipping) got them to the post office, the rules had changed and we had to manually enter the data into a new online form which took ages to load and has about 20 steps. So it wasn't an issue of me lying to be deceptive - one where we'd filled out your first customs form, had them in a box ready to go to the post office and I'd honestly though they'd shipped (as I wasn't physically taking them to the post office), only to find out a few days later that we had to start back at square one. Holidays then got in the mix (out of the country) and that's how it ended up as Jan. The time and hassle of shipping internationally is far greater than I ever imagined - much more than the postage alone!

I know that many, myself included, have already told you that more than one time without response, but it would be really reassuring for all of us still waiting if your next update included a detailed report of who you've sent the package to, or at least who is still missing.
If this was not simply meant as a one shot and you plan going on with this as a continued activity, it would strongly reinforce your professional image and encourage further future spending.

Finally received my black one ... But I am a bit struggeling inside: Don't get me wrong, the pen is freakin' awesome, but ... You've told me on 2012-12-14 that the package was on the way - the customs declaration shows your signature and a date ... 2013-01-13 ... and you've charged another 10 bucks for international shipping - the stamp is worth 3 bucks only (and yes, I know that there are other positions which should be calculated for shipping, but an additional 10 bucks??). I would be very nice if you'd elaborate on these issues!

Of course you know how gorgeous they are, but I could only imagine their beauty until this minute.
