A feature-length documentary film about the historic and ongoing government efforts to forcibly sterilize citizens against their will.

"Forced sterilization is the quintessential attack on an individuals reproductive rights and their posterity. It is an all-out assault based on an evil social philosophy that deprives thousands of their right to procreate.  This must stop.” ~ Mark G. Bold, Co-Executive Producer.

“Forced Sterilization is a worldwide problem. It breaks my heart to see young girls in India forever deprived of their right to have children and it makes me angry to think of transsexuals and other groups who are targeted for sterilization because of issues that are no fault of their own.  This must be stopped and this documentary is another vehicle to that end.” ~ Robert B. Vogel M.D., Co-Executive Producer.

"Forced sterilization was, admittedly, the furthest issue from my mind before I met Mark Bold and Robert Vogel. When they began to share with me the dark history of the issue, the state laws that have remained unchanged and the attrocities taking place globally I was shocked. The stories of the sterilization victims broke my heart and inspired me to join the cause of bringing them justice." ~ Andrew Garcia, Director

About This Documentary

For nearly two years, we have been investigating, researching, interviewing, and advocating against government-led forced sterilization policies -- now it's time to share it with the world. This is more than a film, it's a story about a human struggle that should not be. The stories and atrocities we uncovered were so fascinating / shocking / appalling / inspiring, that we immediately knew that we had to make a feature-length documentary film.

This film is a feature-length documentary about uncovering the shocking truth of forced sterilizations in the United States and throughout the world. It's about sharing the history of state-funded eugenic sterilization programs, about confronting the governments who brutally sterilize their citizens by force, about telling the stories -- their stories -- that have never been told. This is a film about struggling for a basic fundamental right -- a human right.

You will go behind the scenes as we uncover the fact that individuals are sterilized because of their IQ, financial status, or sexual orientation. We travel the world, interviewing victims, visiting the sites, and confronting the governments regarding their uncivilized policy.  We take you on our journey, as we seek justice for those victims who have been sterilized.  In the United States alone, over 65,000 individuals were sterilized because they were considered "undesirable." You will learn that a forced sterilization policy is continuing today.

How Your Money Will Help

Your support will help us get production of the film going, allowing us to confront the governments and spread the stories of victims. With such an incredibly important personal, human story, we believe it is crucial that it reaches the largest audience possible.

If you are able to contribute financially we are offering amazing incentives. If you can spread the word about our Kickstarter campaign to your friends, on Facebook, or to individuals you come across, we would be forever grateful.

Here’s a breakdown of how we plan to use the funds:

  • Pay for film music rights (for world release)
  • Pay for film sound design and mix
  • Pay for editing film trailer and final release
  • Pay for additional equipment for footage and post-production
  • Pay for editing various versions of the film to share in as many different outlets as possible: Theatrical, Domestic Broadcast, International Broadcast
  • Pay for translation and subtitling final DVD into various languages
  • Pay for traveling expenses to complete our interviews. Further, once the film is complete, the team needs to travel to present the film to various film festivals and media networks.
  • Pay for DVD duplication and mailing costs

Also, please consider SHARING this with everyone you know. : )

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter

Like any film project, there are risks and challenges. For example, because of the nature of the film documentary, there can be unforeseeable issues that are out of our control (i.e. weather, travel problems, illness, scheduling conflicts with interviewers and other unanticipated issues can slow the progress and even stall part of the project). Of course we plan ahead and forecast (no pun intended) for these challenges in an effort to help mitigate any of these potential problems up front. It is to this aim that we are focused on delivering an incredible, visually appealing story that captivates and educates our audience.
