About this project

Hi there. My name is Steph Shaw & and I write songs, play my piano and sing. I've been in the writing cave for a bit now & have come out with some new songs I'm really excited about. So that means it's time to make an album.

I've teamed up with producer Sean McClowry here in NYC & we've narrowed down our fav songs for my record. I'm excited to be bringing you all some new music.

The songs are all written.
Producer is on board.
What next?

Well, the cool thing about this project is that, since I'm an independent artist, I basically have total creative freedom -- no record label peeking over my shoulder. However, that also means that it's up to me to come up with the funds to take this on.

So I've partnered with Kickstarter, to raise funds for my record. What a sweet resource for artists like me to reach out to you & invite you to be a part of what I'm doing. With your support, you will be my "record label" to help me put together this album. So, welcome to the biz!

We're looking to raise $26,316 for the record (what a funny number, heh?) and have just a little over two months to do it.

"Sounds like a massive goal," you might think. I know, it might look that way - but it's pretty standard for indie budgets like mine. You also might wonder, "what is all of this being used for?" Well, in a nutshell, it's amazing what all goes into making an album: tracking, studio time, paying my awesome musicians & producer, editing, mixing, mastering, CD artwork/graphic design, photography & getting the CD's pressed. It all adds up pretty quick!

Moving on now to the goodies!

For your donation, you will not only be stepping up to support the project, you will be coming alongside me to get exclusive inside moments, videos, photos from behind-the-scenes of the album in-making. Things like getting to hear (and even download) the album way before everyone else does! Check out the handy right-hand column for a list what you can get for your donation.

Here's the catch about the way Kickstarter works: you won't charged a single penny (and sadly won't receive your rewards) unless we reach our goal! So, what do you say?
