About this project
Hi!
Many of you know me as Stephen P Brown and many as SPB (a few have even referred to me as "The SPB"!). As an agent-free conductor it is always a challenge on many musical, logistical and financial levels to coordinate concerts and record great music - in fact, it's often impossible to do so alone, which is why I am starting the SPB chamberworks Project.
One of the most important yet oft-forgot aspects of all music, especially "classical", is the fact that it has the ability to incite intellectual, emotional and physical benefits to humans. This is my life-quest, my focus: to share this fact with people who normally wouldn't have access to classical music. Many of you are familiar with my mantra: "There's more to music than music".
Fortunately, there are still numerous music fans in the world who haven't completely lost the ability to use their own imagination and create their own stories and images while listening to music, despite today's multi-media and online distractions. These fans, of which I am one, have a tremendous opportunity to share the benefits of actively participating in classical music as a listener.
This project is just one way you and I can help people 'discover' how to participate in music on a deeper level. The resulting cd launches my new 'Chamberworks Series' of cds that includes your direct help in choosing the:
+ Repertoire
+ Artwork
+ Album names
I will hire and coach or conduct the musicians for recording chamber music that will be available via cd and online. The more funding received, the better the musicians, the recording studio, the design, and distribution options.

Are you new to classical music? We may be used to multi-media distractions and the multi-tasking expected of us these days, yet we can still make up our own minds to be totally creative. One of the best ways to start is to take a cd of classical music (like the one you can help me produce through this project), turn everything else around you off (including the TV, computer and phone), close your eyes and think of a character or storyline. As you focus on the music, pretend the character takes some sort of action, or the story happens in a certain place... let the music you're listening to suggest what's happening. Oh, and enjoy the experience!
Are you already a fan? Be sure to give others the opportunities and permission to focus and use their imagination when listening to music - just like you do now. Sending the link to this project is a good starting point to a great opportunity.
In either case, if you feel as strongly about music as I do, please don't hesitate - take action now to help spread the benefits of music.
