My name is Catherine Alexander and I am a high-end jewelry designer based in Brooklyn, NY.

I have just completed the first Fall/Winter Collection for my jewelry line, STANMORE, and am here on Kickstarter to raise funds for my upcoming Spring/Summer 2013 Collection! ABOUT ME ~

Originally from Washington DC, I came to New York 14 years ago to study at the Tisch School for the Arts at NYU. I started my career as a Film & Television Producer, but soon discovered that the world of Fashion Photography better suited my passions. Producing definitely allowed my organizational and managerial skills to shine, but I found that what I was really missing was a far more tangible creative outlet.  Last year, I resolved to stop thinking about doing something that would meld my interests and instincts and start doing it. I quit my job, pulled my designs together, worked day and night to get my business off the ground -- and I have never been happier. With your help, I hope it can fly!

ABOUT STANMORE ~

The STANMORE brand exists for those who acknowledge and value the duality of the world around us. I have always been fascinated by the juxtaposition of order and freedom in the natural world; predetermined geometric structure creating unique forms. The Fall 2012 Collection adheres to that aesthetic and every Collection to come will do the same.

THE NEW COLLECTION -

The Spring/Summer 2013 Collection has a decidedly Art Deco feel with twists of modernism and a sweep of feminine elegance.  The lines are still clean and purposeful but allow for more fluidity, while Persimmon and Taupe leather accents draw the eye with a pop of color complimented by a neutral. 

FUNDS ~

The funds from this Kickstarter Campaign will be distributed as follows:

$13,000 - SAMPLE PRODUCTION: modelmaking, CAD Printing, casting, plating and finishing of the metal components as well as purchasing leather hides, producing leather stripping, and hand-braiding.

$3,500 - MARKETING MATERIALS: hiring the model, photographer, stylists and equipment for the Spring/Summer Lookbook and eStore images

$2,500 - BACK END: office/studio costs, interns, web design, and all other less glamorous but nonetheless very necessary behind the scenes expenses

For those of you who have decided to invest in my project, I am eternally grateful from the deepest, most loving part of my heart!!! Thank You. For those who are undecided, I'd just like to reiterate that it's all or nothing - if I don't reach my goal, my cookie jar is just full of crumbles. Every little bit helps and, hey(!), a little more bit gets you some pretty unique pieces of jewelry that you'll have forever and ever!
