The 16-Bit President of the United States, starring in his very own deckbuilding game. Get ready for 8-Bit Emancipation!
Pixel Lincoln: The Deckbuilding Game is based on the upcoming Nintendo DS game: Pixel Lincoln. Our hero Pixel Lincoln is trying to save the world from John Wilkes Booth and his band of n'er-do-wells, who stole Lincoln's hat and disrupted the time-space continuum. Lincoln travels through space and time fighting enemies such as Luchadores, Puking Turtles, Skateboarding Dinosaurs, and Laser Sharks while using his trusty beardarang and whatever weapons we can get his hands on. (They're usually made of some kind of meat.)
Stretch Goal Achieved! Now includes Level Boxes!
The Level Boxes are boxes to store your favorite level combinations. If you come up with a favorite level to play, you can store it in style. The boxes feature vintage NES style artwork.
Stretch Goal Achieved! Now includes Player Tableaus!
The Player Tableaus provide each player with a defined place to play their cards on the table. The tableaus feature the amazing illustrations by Jon Fisher of Pixel Lincoln and the Bosses in various action poses. Once the game ends the players will flip the tableau over to the end game scoring track on the backside to help when tallying their final scores.
Stretch Goal Achieved! Now includes the Level Editor!

The Pixel Lincoln Bonuses Pack includes a Pixel Lincoln button, Pixel Sentinels, the Celebrity Custom Cards pack, the Lincoln Coin Card Pack, and a shiny penny*
*Penny may not actually be shiny.
Here's a preview of the Coin Card Pack.
The Coin and Cards addition to the bonuses pack gives a player an actual Pixel Lincoln coin! (You know you've always wanted a coin with Lincoln's face on it.) Along with the coin, you will receive 10 additional item and enemy cards that use the coin in-game. There is the "Mortar Log" and the "Panda Cannon", both a little risky with their fate determined by the flip of your trusty Lincoln coin.
Each Bonuses Pack contains the Pixel Sentinels! This special set of characters will be included with every Bonuses Pack!
Here are some previews of the celeb cards:
The first FIVE celebrity cards to be included in the Celebrity Custom Cards in the Bonuses Pack will be Tim Schafer (designer of Monkey Island, Double Fine Adventure), David Jaffe (designer of God of War, Twisted Metal), Tom Vasel (game reviewer extraordinaire of The Dice Tower), Lorien Green (Director of Going Cardboard), and Little Metal Dog (The Little Metal Dog Show by Michael Fox). We'll add more to this pack as we get approval from more folks.

Your pledge level does NOT include shipping. You will pay for shipping separately, when your items are ready to ship. So there's no need to include shipping with your pledge. We will email you a link to enter your info, which will also allow you to save on shipping if (for example), you wanted to combine your package with other backers or combine other eligible projects that are fulfilled by Game Salute. Your final shipping cost will be based on the actual cost to ship to wherever you are. Your actual shipping cost will be based on the total weight of the items you're having shipping together as well as your location. Here's a handy chart of ESTIMATED shipping costs based on your pledge level and location. Shipping costs should not exceed these estimates for most backers. They may be lower in many cases and higher in some cases (like if you live in Tanzania and we have to personally deliver your game by sea turtle).
You can help bring Pixel Lincoln to life by pledging to this campaign, spreading the word through Twitter (#PixelLincoln), Facebook, text message, phone call, MySpace, Friendster, carrier pidgeon, or by shouting at your roommates down the hall to get on the interwebs and make this.
I created Pixel Lincoln at the end of 2007. At the time I was playing around with card game design and decided to make a side-scrolling card game. I was looking for cheap prototype pawns and settled on the most inexpensive game pawn of all… the US penny.
I would move the penny around the gridded cards, and eventually the game would take shape. When it came time to replace the penny with an actual character, I realized the character was in front of me the whole time. Pixel Lincoln was born a few minutes later. I started by using the mosaic filter in Photoshop on an Abraham Lincoln portrait, which eventually led to tweaking an NES mario sprite to look more like Lincoln.
In the following months I released the card game and hit up the conventions, selling a good amount at each stop. Then caught the attention of Island Officials who wanted to develop a Nintendo DS game based off of the character.
Now, a few years later, the DS game is almost complete. My role as designer is complete and I have moved on to a shocking new project, Pixel Lincoln: The Deckbuilding Game! Yes, it’s a card game… based off of the unreleased video game… that was based off of a card game… that was based off of classes NES-era video games.
About Jason Tagmire: Jason Tagmire is a game designer from South Jersey. He has been designing and self-publishing board and card games since 2007 under the name Championland, and has recently won The Game Crafter's Resource Game Design Contest with his family-friendly resource management game, Sandwich City. He is the creator and designer of Pixel Lincoln, which is being made into both a Nintendo DS game and a deckbuilding card game by Island Officials. Jason is also the co-founder and writer for the pop-culture site Fruitless Pursuits, and the Kickstarter Curator for the IGDA Philadelphia chapter.
Established in 2007, Island Officials is a game development studio based in Southern New Jersey. The company is an officially licensed developer with both Nintendo and Apple – our games are focused on Analog, Nintendo, iOS and Android platforms. As a specialized developer of analog and hand-held platforms Island Officials games are built to appeal to casual and core gamers. Island Officials released their first Nintendo DS title, Hands On! Tangrams in 2009, and their first card game, LangGuini, is currently in production after it's highly successful Kickstarter campaign ended well over 200% of it's funding goal.
We'll notify you when Pixel Lincoln: The Deckbuilding Game is getting ready to ship. At that time, you'll be able to pay for shipping through Shop.GameSalute.com. You'll also be able to combine with other backers or with other Game Salute projects that you're backing. You can use VISA, MasterCard, Discover, or PayPal to pay for shipping and you won't pay for it until your pledge is ready to ship.
You'll be able to add additional copies of Pixel Lincoln: The Deckbuilding Game or any other accessories like the Bonuses Pack to any pledge level through our Build Your Own Rewards Bundle option. Simply pledge whatever total you'd like for your base pledge, plus the cost of any additional items you'd like to add (example: $25 extra for another copy of the game, $10 extra for another copy of the bonuses). You'll receive a voucher for your entire pledge and you'll redeem that, select your specific rewards for your bundle, and pay for shipping, all when these rewards are ready to ship later in the year. Thanks for your support!
Say you want to add on something, like a Pixel Lincoln Vampire Hunter pack (excellent choice!). You simply add the appropriate amount on to your pledge. That's it! When your rewards are ready to ship, later this year, you'll be able to confirm exactly what you're getting and allocate the total of your pledge at the same time as you pay for shipping (when the rewards are ready to ship). We've also added pre-built custom bundle levels, so there's something for whatever combo you're looking to pick up!
We're working on getting as many celebrities into this pack as we can. Looks like it will be 12-20 celebs.
We expect it to be around 16 cards or so.
