Got my shipping email today as well. So excited!
Creator C.j. Hall 3 days ago
I received my shipping confirmation a few hours ago. I'm super excited to play this with my son!
Creator Sanhueza 3 days ago
Hi everyone, sorry we haven't posted another official update yet since the last one. Game Salute tells me that the shipping process for the first round of packages is underway, and we should have a new update posted soon.
@James, no offense is taken, and I thank you very much for your kind words. Because of you guys, I'm getting to do what I love. I hope to be able to keep delivering the awesomeness, and that people will find my work worthy of their time.
Creator James D. Hecker 5 days ago
@Sanhuza: I hope that you did not take anything from my last few comments personally. I am upset with Springboard not you. YOU my friend have been awesome. You have provided us with tons of updates, both good and bad. Free digital stuff, print and play, certificates, and fun nick names. You have done more than your fair share. Now if your manufacturers can show the same devotion and give us some answers and updates. I would really like to hear their input on some of my statements.
As mentioned keep being awesome at what you do Sanhueza. And I still look forward to playing YOUR game.
Creator Sanhueza 6 days ago
Hey guys, Game Salute is working on fulfilling the orders to those backers who have already entered their information in the pledge manager. I don't know when you'll start to see the packages showing up at your door, but it shouldn't be long now. We'll post an update at the beginning of this week, including some photos of the games and puzzles in the warehouse. :)
@RavenTroll - thanks for posting the link! Tom did a fun review, as usual, and I'm glad the rhymes can still make him smile. The review is pretty much the same as the preview he did last year, only now with 100% of the art and he got to dump all of the cards out of the tin too. :)
Creator RavenTroll on May 11
@ James. I just saw this on BGG and it seems promising: A dice tower review and it seems to be with the final product (tin box included as well as the complete art). I'm taking this as a good sign that it should not be long before it's in the backers hands (at least that's what I'm hoping). Here's the link: http://boardgamegeek.com/video/29058/goblins-drool-fairies-rule/dice-tower-reviews-goblins-drool-fairies-rule

Lol, noticed that Springboard is also offering free shipping within the U.S. and U.K. for Epic Death and free shipping in the U.S. for Alien Frontier. I'm going to assume that both of these games have bigger boxes and a lot more pieces from the descriptions of the games. SMH...
Creator James D. Hecker on May 11
Any news? At this point it really wouldn't matter if the news was good or bad. I'm just curious because in about 6 days we're about to hit the full year mark for this project. Looking above this comment box it says that funding was successful June 17th and if memory serves me right this was a 30 day Kickstarter. Which means that it was started earliest a year and 6 days / May 17th, 2012. Or are you guys waiting for the one year anniversary to surprise us?
Remember, for Kickstarter the saying "No news is good news" is extremely wrong. When there is nothing said people start to worry and assume the worst has happened. So, please update and let us know if you guys are waiting for the shipment, fixes of the pledge manager, or there are people who still need to submit their pledge, ect..ect..
Hopefully Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule is being handled by a different department of Springboard because, I'm starting to worry that your current projects Epic Death! Card Game and Alien Frontier are taking top priority right now (not only because they are new but, also because they have already earned more that this one). Or is it because, you already have the money from this one and just counting it as a lost cause, while waiting for shipments to arrive.
Also, is it a good idea to have multiple projects going on Kickstarter when your current project is almost a year late and still no date as to when it will be completed? Is Springboard worried that the negative feedback from backers and lack of updates here going to flow over to Epic Death! or Alien Frontier's comments sections?
Creator rikkalarn on May 3
@Springboard, within one of your updates...
In addition, Game Salute is in the process of setting up a distribution network with locations around the globe. This will allow them to ship games to international backers from within regional borders. If you fall within one of these regions, it could mean reduced costs to you for shipping, duties, and taxes:
Games for Canadian backers will ship from Canada.
Games for UK backers will ship from the UK.
Games for EU backers will ship from Germany.
Games for Australian and New Zealander backers will ship from Australia.
We do not know when all of these networks will be ready. So depending upon the timing, regional shipping may or may not apply to backers of this project. As these plans fall into place, and as Goblins Drool, Fairies Rule! finally gets closer to shipping, we'll let you know if you will be able to benefit.
......yet you didn't let us know, another failing unfortunately. Raising hopes to stave off pressure, however I am sure it is something you hoped would be in place. Please advise on latest timeframe for shipping from UK. As this option cannot too far off for you to have mentioned it. As I've had to wait this long, I'm happy to wait thank you :)
Creator Sanhueza on May 3
@James D. Hecker, Thank you very much for the apology. Misunderstandings happen, and it wouldn't be the first or last time that someone has jumped to conclusions on the internet. :)
Thank you also for the suggestion, I forwarded your message to Game Salute.
Creator James D. Hecker on May 1
@Springboard and Sanhueza.. I just wanted to take a few minutes and write a apology. About a week ago, I wrote a angry comment about the finances of this project. I will admit that I wrote it out of frustration at having to pay shipping for my already "massively" late game. Truth is, I have no idea what the profits you made were or what the additional founding went toward. It was not fair of me to make assumptions and try to call you out or sling mud about it. I'm sure that you did the responsible thing and used the money to mass produce items for us "backers" and that you are using (if any) profits to make more stuff for us to buy and fond with future games (expansion .. maybe).
I like other customers were upset about the postal charge and did not realize that we had fair warning about having to pay shipping in one of the previous updates. I'm sure, that like other backers I assumed that it would be taken care of as a act of "good faith" because of the delays. Looking over more updates I notice that we were warned also of major delays. So overall, I'm sorry for making assumptions without getting all my facts straight. And even though the game was very delayed because of matters that were "out of your hands" I think you could still win over many of the upset people by extending a "good faith" offer to show that you guys are sorry for the delays.
What I am purposing is something like promo codes such as a 25% - 50% off code for any Springboard / Game Salute order from your website. Being honest, I would love to own Alien Frontier, Dungeon Heroes, Forceball, Heroes of Metro City and many more of your games. And something like this would not hurt the companies profit margin by much because the offer only extends to 1,000 sore backers. As a business owner myself I have used this method to solve upsets with customers and keep their business while improving by only taking a slight decrease in profit margins.
This is a idea that I thought I would share with you to make up for the assumptions I made earlier possibly saving you from handing out more refunds and upset backers.

Thank you for the feedback, Chris. We are sorry to have disappointed you and will always strive to improve our communication and turnaround time. The delays for this project were due to the production updates and shipping as well as art delays at the start of the campaign. The error in the pledge manager was due to a coding error that we corrected in less than a day. We appreciate the patience and support of all our fine backers and we hope you all enjoy the final product!
Creator Chris S on April 29
Really amusing that you had MONTHS of delays to work on a (VERY) simple pledge manager and couldn't even get that right.
Even more amusing that YOU put US on a deadline to submit, when you couldn't even come close to delivering on time (and oh yeah, please be sure to blame everyone else for the problems with manufacturing).
I have already passed on other projects done by this creator and would not touch them with a 10-foot pole. If I hadn't already promised this to my better half I wouldn't even have bothered to pay the additional for shipping. Amusingly, I would probably have gotten more product (disgustingly I already paid extra for art prints which we got months ago from a different supplier) so at least you missed out on that money from me!
Lesson learned to you I hope... treat your customers better and they will actually remain customers!
Creator Lontra on April 27
6 months late and I end up having to pay more than retail, and am picking it up at my FLGS any how thank's Game Salute for teaching me never to KS one of your projects again.
Creator Springboard ... Powered by Game Salute on April 26
Greetings All,
We're going to be manually reconciling any folks who have submitted their pledges through the pledge manager already (prior to 9 AM today). There was a coding error that led to the calculations not following the chart maximums, so we're correcting for that. Anyone who paid an amount for shipping that was higher than the ones shown on the chart, will receive a refund for the difference. Some folks did not pay any shipping, so we'll email those folks directly to have them send the difference to PayPal@GameSalute.com so they can be caught up.
We'll be collecting this info over the course of the weekend and processing refunds this coming week.
David will be wrangling all those fixes, so please email David@GameSalute.com and put "GDFR Pledge Manager" in the subject line, and he'll make sure you're taken care of.
Thanks for your patience and support!

@KLH, if you're having problems with the pledge manager or questions about shipping, you should contact Game Salute directly. You can email David MacKenzie at david@gamesalute.com and put "GDFR Pledge Manager" in the subject line, and they will do their best to help you.

Hi, the pledge form wasn't working for me. I read a comment that advised to leave off cents & I got a message saying my form was accepted. Unfortunately I hadn't added my add-ons. I tried again, same thing. My user name is KLH, my pledge was $112 my reward level was $12. I really want a game and 2 books. I'm in Australia, could you either reset the form and I'll try again, or send me a Paypal invoice for shipping. Thanks
Creator Sanhueza on April 25
@Paul, the final nickname list will be posted as an update early next week. Everyone who was eligible for a nickname will see them all together here, and on the Game-O-Gami website. This includes those who haven't seen their nicknames yet, and those who have already received them. And yes, for those of you who made special requests for children, etc, those have been accounted for. :)
Creator Paul Laska on April 25
@Sanhueza In February you mentioned that the list of nicknames wasn't complete, and that another batch was on the way. I've gone back through all your comments and have not found my name listed with a nickname. When can we expect the next batch of nicknames?
Creator Springboard ... Powered by Game Salute on April 25
Rikkalarn...There have been more recent projects were we made plans to use the regional depots, but GDFR was not one of them. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.
Creator rikkalarn on April 25
I'm confused, either I missed an update since, or I dreamt up reading one about shipping costs and timescales being reduced because the units were to be shipped from localised centres....ie euro orders from a european location, being asked for another $20 almost doubles my pledge, and while I consider myself patient (bought alternative presents for those that were supposed to receive them or xmas/birthday) patience wears thin eventually. Before I submit my details in the pledge manager, I need some reassurance on what is actually happening...
Creator Jillian Aguilar on April 25
I did just pay the shipping, but I have to say that for a project that's this delayed, $8 shipping is pretty steep. Not sure I'd back something from you guys again.
Creator Sanhueza on April 15
That's an excellent suggestion, Mark! And very doable. A series of do-it-yourself birthday/holiday cards would be a nice touch. I'm open to other suggestions as well. :)
Creator Mark Hawkes on April 9
@ David
thank you for your reply & I do understand about the pillows, though it may have been possible for the higher end backers like myself, but again I do understand & thank you for at least understanding my main point regarding updates.
your latest update is indeed great news! I i'm sure my children will love it when they get there copy in hand & I look forward to your next update & the pictures etc.
Perhaps a digital reward for the delays could be a set of Six Faries & Six Goblins (12 in total) PDF birthday &/or Christmas cards to download and print?? similar to the one set out last year but this time based on an A4 page folded in half that woud be more fitting to the off-the-shelf card printing kits available... featuring the cards artwork of course but with the GDFR logo etc on the back.
in this way we gain a gift to send & you gain free advertising of your wonderful game. Kindof a win win situation that way?
just a thought??
kind regards
Mark
Creator Sanhueza on April 8
Today we have a new update with very good news... check it out!
@RavenTroll - Yes, you have been extremely patient. Sorry I missed your previous question. As mentioned in today's update, the next update will be a preview of the illustrated book and the dedication certificates. When the backer surveys go out, you'll be able to let us know each person/organization you want your copies dedicated to on the certificates.
@MarkHawkes - You're right, we need to post updates on a more regular basis. It's easy for us to forget that sometimes people interpret no news as bad news. We don't want to waste people's time by posting fluff without real news - but we don't want you guys to feel like you're being kept in the dark either. Today we have very good, very real news to share, and hope you will be as happy to hear it as we were.
Concerning free pillows, that wouldn't be possible. Even the smallest pillows from Society6 cost more than $20 each to produce. Add in shipping and handling, it would cost as much money as we raised with this Kickstarter just to send out pillows to every one of our backers. All of the money you helped us raise (and then some) has gone into producing this project, so I don't think extra physical rewards are possible.
But I would like to reward all of you for the boundless patience and good will you have shown us. Some kind of extra digital reward to give to all of you would be much more feasible. If you and other backers have suggestions for what this could be, I would be very happy to hear them!
@Mattimao, @ChrisS - Yes and Yes! Estimated delivery is still on for May, see today's update.
Creator Mark Hawkes on April 4
@David
Its now been a veerrry long time since we have had any form of adequate updates on both the reason for the prolonged delay &/or the likely hood of anyone receiving their order this year??
I think you can agree everyone has been very understanding regarding the delays but I can assure you that a lack of updates is not helping your support....
while I look forward to getting my hands on my order, I do think that even though you may have nothing new to say in the way of progress good or bad some form of update or statement on a regular basis would go a very long way towards reassuring your Backers! the game & its concept may have been your idea But Please remember that it was US your Backers that helped make this possible for you & much like a limited company has its stockholders that need constant reassurance & updating all year round, we your Backers also deserve not to be kept in the dark...
I would also like to take this opportunity to suggest that some form of recompense for the extreme delay would be in-order if not entirely unjust? My original hope was to use this as a gift to my children for Last Christmas but with the delay being announced (although I was not entirely happy about the delay) I though oh well I guess I could at least save it for their Birthday... Yet now even this is at risk of not happening!? therefore returning to my point I would suggest that the offer of one FREE pillow/cushion added to each backers order might go a very long way towards making up for the delays? as at this rate its looking like my children will not get this until this Christmas now...
I would like to know your thoughts on this Please?
Kind regards
Mark
Creator RavenTroll on April 4
I have a concern regarding something which I originally voiced on January 18th. Ever since the project has been closed, there has been no update on either the certificates or the illustrated book. I know we've been asked to be patient but no updates mentioning this since closing last June and going on almost 3 months since I posted a reminder which has not been addressed. Can the next update please address this. I think I have been more than patient.

I have a couple acquaintances who are waiting on getting their games back from printers too. Apparently, they got hit with the Chinese New Year delay. :)
I'm looking forward to getting my physical copy, but a delay of a couple months is not too bad, considering all the logistics.
Creator Sanhueza on February 22
Robin, the nickname list is not complete, there is still another batch on the way. I'm using the updated backer-list that Game Salute provided me with, to fill in the missing names. Coming up with several hundred nicknames has been quite the challenge!
Since the previous nicknames are scattered throughout the comments, it's not the best way for people to find them. So I'm going to include every nickname together in one of the next Updates.
Creator Robin Lees on February 19
@Sanhueza: I've looked, but haven't been able to find my backer nickname, did you complete the list?

Hello everyone! I know we're all waiting with great anticipation this game so for those who already took advantage of the print and play copy, here's a solitaire version which I posted on BGG that you might like. It's loosely based on Pyramid solitaire (aka king tut's tomb or 13's). Hi All,
Chris is referring to the upcoming postal rate increases through the US Postal Service. These go into effect on January 27th. When the pledge manager launches this for, we will cover any additional international shipping costs beyond what was originally projected. David just posted an update with the latest production samples and we'll have another update on the production timeline as soon as we get the latest from the factory.
Thanks again for your patience and support!

Creator Chris S on January 21
So, now that shipping Internationally is about to go up massively, does this mean International backers are going to have to pay even more? I mean c'mon, at least some official update would be good. I'm even more disappointed that I actually bought a couple art prints from an earlier update, feels like we are asked to buy more products but barely get any new info (and no, updating in comments doesn't count, you really should officially update). Now the game has taken so long that one person the extra gift copy was intended for has moved away! So is it still March (MARCH?) or even later?
Creator Mark Bisignano on January 19
Some pics of the cards, tin, proofs, etc. in the next update would be appreciated. That will help us remember the quality of what we're stilling waiting for. March can't come fast enough!
Creator Sanhueza on January 18
Hi guys,
I understand how painful waiting can be. We're feeling that same pain, as well as the pressure from a creator's perspective. I know it does not make waiting any easier, but I assure you that we are doing everything in our power to get this project out to all of you as soon as possible, without sacrificing quality. We will be posting a new update soon to show you the progress we have made. Stay tuned...
Creator RavenTroll on January 18
@ Billy, Mike and T.J.
Patience not being one of my virtues, I completely understand where you guys are coming from. I too was disappointed about the delay, especially when I was asked to demo for a gaming night which was meant to help promote Christmas sales for our local game store. We were really hoping for the final product but it didn't happen so I continue demoing with the PnP.
As pointed out, the last 'update' was more fluff then anything so I'll refer to update 22 which provided the most meat. I do agree that in the (board) game industry that delays are inevitable and for the most part expected. The collectors tin was, to my knowledge, not part of the original idea and was added later as a stretch goal and I'm sure that the production for it is more lengthy and 'added in at the end'. Update 22 suggested March and although it was disappointing (for me and my game store anyway), in the meantime I'm still playing the game and trying to develop variants (which offers it's own rewards) .
Now, that being said, being one of the higher end backers I am a bit concerned that no recent update about the art book or or dedication certificates (which unlike the pillows was part of the kickstarter) has been mentioned. I'm looking forward to the next update, hoping some info/ insight will be divulged...
Creator T.J. Brumfield on January 16
Agreed. The art and game looked finished when the game was pitched. I was really hoping to include this with my daughter's Christmas presents. If the total time to print a finished card game is 9 months, then I'm unlikely to support future Kickstarters from Game Salute.
Creator Mike on January 14
I'm with Billy on this one.
I'm also a bit sad at looking at all of the updates to think that any time, energy or resources were devoted to non-game stuff (e.g., large prints, pillows and collectors tin). We're going on 7 months to get a card game (which was already being played and demoed at the time of the KS) printed. Printed!
Creator Billy Gove on January 13
Getting impatient :.....(
Creator Sanhueza on January 12
Hi Andrew! I think that is an excellent idea, and would love to turn these characters into minis one day. Maybe after the game has gotten into circulation and our gobs and fairies become more recognizable to the public, that would be a logical next step. :)
Btw, we received our final samples from our manufacturer and they look perfect! Expect an update soon...
Creator Andrew Hayford on January 9
BTW....Love your art. I've said this before, but I would pledge for a miniatures project to convert the gobs and fairies to minis.
Creator Andrew Hayford on January 9
My bad, I missed this "Extending the expected delivery to March"
