Thanks Palenoue, appreciate the feedback--you're right, the stationary guns can be exceptionally powerful.

      Some thoughts:

      1) Use the fact to your advantage and add defensive cannons to your outpost to discourage attacks,

      2) try different combinations of units to attack the stationary guns. Some guns aren't able to hit air units, other guns have limited range.

As you progress you'll discover different strategies for each opponent. Does this help?

Please ignore my previous comment, it was mistakenly posted here instead of in a private bug report. This is a good game and deserves your support.

Speaking of out of balance, I just tried to attack a base (three attempts) and one, count 'em, _one_ stationary gun wiped out everything I had in all three attacks while taking very little damage itself. I have nothing, needed those captured resources to build but that's out of the question now. I don't mind powerful defenses that I need to avoid, that's part of strategy, but if you put a super-mega-overkill-can't-be-beat-over-the-top-indestructable-always-win type of stationary weapon in your NPC bases, shouldn't you at least put in some kind of warning? Like maybe an exclamation mark over it that we could mouse over and get a pop-up message that read "Warning: You have no chance against this, you will lose everything, abandon hope all who attack, you are doomed, I say, DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!"
      .
I have little to no reason to play this game now. it will take me days to build up to the level I was when that single, solitary weapon wiped out all of my forces, and by then I won't be protected from other players so they'll just swoop in and destroy my base repeatedly, making off with all my resources like a steady stream of ants who discovered a defenseless picnic.

HI Palenoue, we've tried to design the game to also be played by single players with zero friends. If you're having issues, it's our fault, and we need to fix it. At the same time, we need to be very thoughtful about how we have players add each other in the game, so things aren't thrown out-of-balance. This is one of our top priorities and we really appreciate your feedback.

Could you do something for those of us who don't have gaming facebook friends? My facebook friends have been spammed into oblivion thanks to Zynga and other games that like to send out spam every time you click on something, so none of them want anything to do with facebook games. As a result I try to get into games like Mars Frontier but to advance you need to invite a lot of friends, which I don't have.
      .
So could you either offer us a way to make new friends who are already playing Mars Frontiers or give lonely players like me an option to bypass the friends requirements?

HTML5 for browser games! Nice, this could really setup a foundation for itself and the future internet games.
