Southside Desire have an album done, but we need your help to put it on vinyl!!
Southside Desire emerged last spring as a collaboration of old friends who love making music together. We started writing original twists on soul, r&b, disco, gathering inspiration from the music we probably heard our parents kissing to when we were kids. We hit the ground running, jam packed the months with live gigs, and got fantastic turnout and support from friends, family, and strangers alike. People immediately demanded we record, and although we had likely overbooked ourselves as it was, we did not want to disappoint. In May and June of 2012, we pried our weekends open, finished an 8 song album at Albatross Studio in South Minneapolis, and now we are trying to make good on our promise, and make it available for you!
Aside from the actual pressing of the album, we are paying out of pocket to cover recording expenses and some scattered merchandise for creating fun pledge packages. In keeping with the classic analog production by Mike Wisti, we're going to release the album on vinyl through United Record Pressing in Nashville! Ahh.... fresh vinyl. We're asking friends and supporters to help us fill a small gap in the budget in exchange for a 12" vinyl record with a digital download card, or any of the other pledge packages listed. Our goal is to raise $800 dollars in 30 days to cover a little more than half of the pressing cost. It is a modest and attainable goal, and we need your help to reach it. Thank you for your support! We love you!
