SoulCove Center for the Arts is becoming a reality! We are raising money for start-up costs so we can hit the ground running!
SoulCove Center for the Arts will be a non-profit 501(c)(3) classified community center that offers music, art, and artist specific wellness services. Our mission is to nurture musicians of all ages who love their art and see the importance of service through art. Our students will gain the tools and experience needed to perform on the highest level while also gaining an understanding of how to care for their bodies and minds for optimum health and performance ability. Our students will regularly interact with their community through performance, outreach and educational events.
Artistry. Our students will take private lessons with highly trained, performing musicians. They will also be given the opportunity to participate in ensembles, perform in regular recitals and concerts, and take classes in musicology. Our curriculum will provide our students with a solid, comprehensive foundation from which they can grow and develop a capacity for greater self expression.
Community. Connecting the Center for the Arts with the community is another pillar of our mission. It is important for students to be aware of the needs of their community and understand how their craft can enhance their society. The center will provide consistent, reliable guidance and mentorship in educational and professional development for local musicians, artists, and yogis. Not only will the center offer private instruction and group classes, it will also act as a gallery and performance space, providing a fun and nurturing place for the whole community to enjoy. Additionally, it will maintain databases with personal connections to other professionals working and performing in their fields, acting as a resource center for the arts on the North Shore.
Our art gallery is already gaining support. We are happy to welcome Corvid Pottery to our space. Wonderful art like this will be a staple of our center!
We are also in talks to start workshops within the area public schools. With your support we hope to hold weekly performance workshops that culminate in a multi-disciplinary performance event! Money raised through this campaign will go towards paying our instructors, buying props, and transporting our students among the schools!
We are also extremely excited to use the space as a performance venue. We would love our community to come together on a regular basis for open-mic performances. Local artists now have a space for their musical expression. We want to open our doors to all that need an artistic home!

We are so happy to call The Manchester Athletic Club our home! The MAC has generously set aside four rooms for us. The first space will be our greeting area and office space. We then have two private lesson studios and a large ensemble/group class/yoga room/performance venue. Have a look at our video for a tour! Our space is ready for us to move into just as soon as we get a few ducks in a row.
Our first mission is delve into the process of becoming a non-profit organization. Although more complicated and intricate, we believe that our mission makes it impossible to be anything but a community serving institution. We WANT to give all of our profits back to the school so that we can continue to grow and serve even more budding artists.
In order to do this we need begin working with a non-profit lawyer and in order to do it right, we may have to shell out some big bucks. We have been in contact with some folks but if you know of anyone who might be able to help us (and who is preferably on the North Shore), please let us know!
First step in setting up the space itself will to be to give it a good coat of paint (already underway!) We want our home to be welcoming and unique, just like us!

Studio Helper: This software has been developed specifically to manage music schools. From the Studio Helper website (https://www.studiohelper.com):
-Keep track of everyone in your studio (students, parents, teachers, staff). Send mass emails. Assign "to-do" items.
-See a live calendar of all the lessons and events in your studio. Control which teachers and rooms you want to see. Send reminders and track attendance.
-Invoice your clients and receive payments online. Track expenses and inventory and run reports for taxes.
Sound System: Sony Micro Shelf System
Printer/Copier/Scanner/Fax Machine: Canon imageCLASS MF8280cw Wireless 4-In-1 Color Laser Multifunction Printer with Scanner, Copier and Fax
Pianos: Initially, SoulCove will need three keyboard instruments. Our hopes are to have an upright in one of our smaller studios (for piano lessons), a keyboard in the other studio, and a grand or baby grand piano in the large ensemble room. Pricing for this item can vary greatly depending on the quality of the instrument. As much as we would love new instruments we are exploring the option of purchasing used instruments. Do you happen to have an instrument you would like to donate? Do you know of someone who is selling theirs? Might you have the resources to provide a grant for the purchase of a new instrument?
Computer - Mac Desktop: For all of our office, programming, design, and accounting needs, this computer will be the powerhouse that stores all of our information.
Decorations: We want our Center for the Arts to be YOUR home too. We hope to also function as a gallery for artists of the North Shore. Do you have art of your own that you would like to display? This could include paintings, sculpture, stained glass (we are so lucky to have many windows!), or any other art you'd like the world to see.
This are just a few of the things we'll be needing to make SoulCove CFA everything we (and you!) dream about. We understand that times are tough for a lot of us but we are hoping that you will see and believe in our mission to make our community a better place. Anything you might be able to contribute would be greatly appreciated. And we have some fun gifts to offer! =)
