From farmers markets to store shelves: A campaign to put San Diego’s Mustard on the Map.
Hi folks! Thanks for checking out our Kickstarter page. So you like The Mustard? You've come to the right spot. With your support, we can get the BEST MUSTARD IN THE UNIVERSE* off the streets and into the stores, improving the world one sandwich at a time.

The money we raise on Kickstarter will pay for launching our initial wholesale production run. This involves moving to state certified facility and ordering greater volumes of ingredients, including:
- organic mustard seed
- artisan vinegars
- organic spices
Your backing of our project not only gives us the extra push we need, but also it guarantees you receive one of the first jars off the mustard assembly line!
Our mustards gained a loyal following while we sold them at local farmers markets over the past year. Now we’re looking to take it to the next level and get our mustards into stores. And this is where your support comes in!
So you ask, “What makes your mustard so awesome?”
We use QUALITY ingredients. We like to know where our products come from, who makes them, and what goes into them. We NEVER use anything weird. No stabilizers, no preservatives, no “natural flavors” (whatever those are), just REAL INGREDIENTS. We feel strongly about this.
FLAVOR is paramount. Our two unique recipes of mustard entice both the sweet and spicy mustard lovers out there!
Ingredients: water, champagne vinegar, organic mustard seed, organic cane sugar, organic garlic, sea salt
This is the sweeter of the two mustards. Thick and garlicky, this mustard is a game changer. Serve friends sandwiches with Champagne Garlic and you better hide the jar because they may try to take it home with them.
- Improves any sandwich a minimum of 4 points on the Friehold-Sandwich scale.
- Makes the best salad dressing in the world
- Spread it on pizza dough before you put on the sauce and toppings (seriously try this)
- Mix into burgers before you put them on the grill
- The possibilities are endless!
Hong Kong Habanero
Ingredients: water, organic mustard seed, cane vinegar, organic cane sugar, habanero peppers, sea salt
- Use sparingly (unless you’re tough enough…)
- HKH packs a strong 1-2 punch: the mustard heat hits you in your nose and then the habaneros tingle the inside of your mouth. This is not for the weak or frail.
- HKH really upgrades a steak sandwich or mix a glob into your stir-fry for an added layer of flavor and heat.
- This one is also super to add to a cheese plate – just make sure you warn your guests!

Tamarind Wood Cutting Boards
These are fantastic. We sold these at the farmers markets and we could barely keep them in stock! Made of beautiful tamarind wood from Vietnam, they make a beautiful addition to any kitchen as well as make a fantastic cheese board!
Your own flavor of mustard!
We're mustard makers, right? You tell us what flavors you like and we’ll hand craft for you your own, personalized case of mustard. This is a fun one for us because we get to play. Who knows, you might be the inspiration for our next flavor!
Secret Underground Dinner (shhhhh!)
We may or may not have organized these in San Diego over the past year. We incorporate our unique brand of silliness, chef prepared local/organic food, and absurdity into an experience you will never forget.
Personalized tour of SD/TJ region (no donkey shows)
James and Zach have lived in this area for a combined 15 years and we’ve gotten to know the place pretty well. We won’t be giving you a standard tour - we’ll visit the haunts we love so much, on both sides of the border. The only thing you should be afraid of is never getting this experience again.
