
About this project
Sonic Circuits Festival returns with its annual exploration of experimental music from DC and beyond with an exciting program of music, film and dance performances. Venues include The Strathmore Mansion, AFI Silver Theater, Pyramid Atlantic, and two free outdoor performances on Veterans Plaza in downtown Silver Spring.
The 2011 Festival lineup includes:

Sonic Circuits receives no direct funding from any agency and the production costs for organizing the festival far exceed revenues from ticket sales. Your support is crucial to ensure that Sonic Circuits can cover expenses such as travel & accommodations for visiting artists, sound equipment, and printing promotional materials. The Memory Machine: small group seminar on field recordings with Rinus Van Alebeek, the director of Das Kleine Field Recordings Festival in Berlin. Includes one hour of group recordings and a listening session. Seminar will take place around September 17-18 in the DC area.

Sonic Circuits is a Washington DC area promoter for experimental music. Sonic Circuits seeks to expose audiences to cutting edge contemporary music that defies genres, and offer artists new platforms to present their music and opportunities to network and collaborate with artists from around the world. In addition to organizing an annual festival since 2001, Sonic Circuits programs performances year round. Sonic Circuits is presented in part by Improv Arts Inc., a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to supporting the artistic and career development of artists and creating new markets for contemporary music.
