Song of the Mountains is a grassroots television program that showcases Bluegrass music and other Appalachian styles of music and entertainment but we believe it is truly so much more...
A little bit about us....our live shows occur once a month or so inside the Lincoln Theatre, a restored circa 1929 theater in a beautiful little Appalachian town called Marion VA. We've been recording the stellar musicians featured in our live performances since our first show in 2005 to create an archive of today's traditional and progressive Appalachian and Appalachian inspired musicians, showcase and share our music (Bluegrass, Old Time, gospel, Americana and more) with the rest of the country through the public television series 'Song of the Mountains'.
We have been, featured hundreds of excited musicians and bands, won a Telly award and over the past year the show aired on 141 public television stations! During our 7 year run we've been privileged to have many of the true legends of our music on the Song of the Mountains stage, and although a few of them have passed on the magic of their live performances will live on through our show for future generations to enjoy. We will keep on as long as we're able. There are too many greats to list so here's the big list of performers who have played Song of the Mountains.
Things have gone amazingly great - fairytale great - but...a show like ours costs money and times are tough, funding has been cut everywhere and Song of the Mountains has really felt it this year. Right now we are at critical funding levels and in serious need of dough to guarantee the performances we've recorded during the 2012 season make it to television so we're looking for help from you, our fans and our friends new and old at Kickstarter!

House/Office concert. Host Tim White and the VW Boys will perform an intimate concert of music, magic & comedy at your home or office for you and your friends or business associates. We will work with you to schedule a mutually acceptable date in 2012 or 2013. If your venue is more than a 4-hour drive from Marion, you will also be responsible for travel and one hotel room for 3 people. A PA system may be needed depending on the size of your performance space.
