Gerry and Christine here ~   We make unique,  great fitting, patchwork jeans and we want your help to kick start our new brand and bring them out to the world!

We have been working hard at fundraising for this awesome new products and we are asking for your help to succeed.

Sonas San Francisco – Who We Are

Grassroots high end denim designer from San Francisco. Our signature piece is our unique patchwork jeans made from 50 individual patches, its probably the toughest jean in the world to make. We design, cut and sew everything here in Sunny California and we don’t waste anything.

Sonas Inspiration 

We have come a long way!  We originally began making patchwork jeans inspired by Haight Street in San Francisco and the Burning Man festival for our friends. Everybody loved our jeans. They began as the ultimate festival jean!

We custom made over 20 different versions of the patched jeans for friends before the demand was so large that we needed to take them to the streets.

We chose the name Sonas because it means Happiness in Gaelic and because we wanted our jeans to spread our ideals of bliss, and free spirited energy. One day in San Francisco, Gerry was encouraged to wear his “festival” pants out on the town and mainstream San Franciscans loved them!  Before you knew it, we evolved to something more sophisticated and high end. 

We want to bring these patched jeans to the world! We at Sonas thought we would share some of this spirit that has kept us living. We want to be that example that just because you are a company, doesn't mean you have to forget to give. Help us succeed, so that we can help others succeed too.

Sonas San Francisco is out to change the world! We are determined to show by example that it is possible to be a successful business with a conscious and the strength to better the world we live in.

San Francisco has a special place in our hearts for animals since they are the #1 most exploited individuals on the planet. Therefore,10% of all of Sonas’ net profits goes to animal welfare groups.

*  Making Waves in the Fashion Industry

Sonas Denim sees no reason to use animal products in the name of fashion. It’s all about looking sexy isn’t it? So why use the skin, feathers or fur of an animal to accomplish that? Therefore, Sonas San Francisco does not use any animal products in its entire collection. We hope that our colleagues in the fashion industry follow suit.

*  Reducing Our Carbon Footprint

So, I know it’s hard to be the perfect company, but we do our part in trying to decrease our carbon footprint as much as possible. Sonas Denim recycles all unused materials and there is no waste. So all of our fabric cuttings are actually turned into greeting cards and other accessories so nothing moves on to landfill. Also, we do all of our production locally here in California to decrease our use of fossil fuels and gas emissions.

What We're Going to Do with the Money

We need to make jeans to build our product inventory to take out to the world! After dozens of samples and prototypes, we’ve found our secret recipe for amazing fitting patched jeans. We have mastered the process to manufacture perfect fits, washes and cuts. The Jeans are ready for a larger production run.  We’re down to the final barrier of needing capital to make it all happen.  We need to buy more fabric and pay the sewers and cutters and washers to make our jeans.  We need your help to bring Sonas to life. The money will go towards covering the production of the jeans, along with fixed and variable costs of making the jeans in California.

Sonas San Francisco jeans are retailing from $230-$350, so Kickstarter is a great chance to get an amazing discount on high end fashion forward jeans and be part of the movement. Even if you are not a “jeans person,” you would give because you love our mission and want us to succeed at our goal of making the word a better place and be a glowing example of how you want the industry to practice.

FAQ

Q1:  How will you really know and send me my size?

A1:  When the Kickstarter ends, we will ask everybody for all the precise details (i.e. item #, what size they wear and which jean).  Then we mail it out to you.  Try it on when you get it.  If it's the wrong size, send it back and we'll get you the right size.

Q2:  I love your ideals!  Is there any other way I can help?

A2:  Please forward this off to your friends if any of this resonates with you and what you believe in. Help us spread the Sonas and get people to choose something good and look cool at the same time too!!!

Q3:  I'm dying to try on the jeans first.  Is there anywhere I can go to try them on and  buy them there at the regular rate?

Q4:  Where do I find the jeans in Group 1?  What are Group 1 jeans?

A4:  Our Group 1 jeans are the Marina Hip Hugger Flare and the Marina Hip Hugger Skinny.  Our Group 1 jeans retail for $198.  Check www.sonasdenim.com and all jeans retailing at $198 are Group 1 jeans.

Q5:  Where do I find the jeans in Group 2?  What are Group 2 jeans?

A5:  Our Group 2 jeans are the women's Belden Skinny jeans, NOPA Skinny jeans, Noe Valley Flare and the men's Delancy Slim (white), Delancy Slim Stonewash and Valencia Straight (coming soon in fire engine red!).  Our Group 2 jeans retail between $259 and $269.  Check www.sonasdenim.com and all jeans retailing at $259 and $269 are Group 2 jeans.
