About this project

Lindy Dojo, a lindy hop practice session and dance, takes place every Tuesday at Crosby Whistle Stop (24 Roland St, Charlestown, Mass.). It's an opportunity for lindy hoppers of all levels to social dance, to practice, to socialize, and to work one-on-one with awesome instructors.

Usually, Lindy Dojo uses recorded music, but on May 24th you have the opportunity to bring in a top-notch swing band led by Seattle pianist (and lindy hopper) Solomon Douglas. He and his group will just have finished a grueling tour of the Northeast, the Southeast, and the Midwest, and they'll be in top form!

Please mark yourself "attending" on the Facebook event.

If this Kickstarter project raises between $250 and $400 in pledges, the band will be a trio (featuring Brian Heveron-Smith on drums and Eric Heveron-Smith on upright bass). If the Kickstarter raises more than $400, the band will be a quintet (including the outstanding New York City musicians Ted Gottsegen on acoustic guitar and Lynn Gruenewald on alto saxophone).

By pledging, you are reserving a ticket to the May 24th dance at Lindy Dojo in your name. If the Kickstarter succeeds in raising at least $250, then your credit card will be charged, and your name will be on the guest list. If not, then your credit card will not be charged. Lindy Dojo will take place that night regardless, but there won't be a band unless this Kickstarter succeeds.
