Hi everyone - sorry for the silence. My girlfriend's dad just passed away this week and we are here in the UK with her family. The final sample arrived in Amsterdam a couple of days ago but I'm not there to receive it. I will be posting the full update I promised during next week.

Most of the delay has been surrounding the seat post itself - now that that is finalized we can get back to testing out some options for the chain version - I've been speaking with our lock manufacturer and he has had some concerns about lateral strength as they've tried the same type of chain before. More info in a future update!

So, the lock 'head' is not attached to the seatpost in any way when the lock is fully inserted in the frame right? Won't it it vibrate against the seatpost and create a ruckus on bumpy roads?

I am excited for the lock. I would guess it will be shipped now in the September October time frame. The Bike season for Minnesota is until end of September so I will use it in 2014. I just bought a new bike, now I have to buy a lock.

It's so close! This is one of the best ideas I have seen in a long while and would take away my number one frustration in biking places: Having to carry and deal with my terrible lock! I told everyone I know at the SB party last night, and while not many are bikers, hopefully some might know people who would be interested. Under $2k left and 32 hours to go, I think there is a great chance we'll make it!
