Raw Visions (Art of Survival) is a documentary based on the Survivors Art Foundation mission of healing through art.
Raw Visions (Art of Survival) is a documentary based on the Survivors Art Foundation mission of healing through art. This compelling documentary exhibits the artists' creativity by exposing their most profound inner visions and truth. The Survivors Art Foundation has participants in 48 states and 24 countries worldwide. SAF crosses all cultures, genders, ages and religions. The Foundation represents traditional and exploratory disciplines of the visual, literary, and performing art genres.
Raw Visions (Art of Survival) is both entertaining and educational. It raises public awareness by creating an atmosphere of acceptance for the survivor artists. The artists are survivors working through their own personal journeys. In this documentary, trauma survivors with physical, psychological and cultural disabilities are seen and heard through their own artistic expressions. This modality gives them recognition, hope, and dignity by implementing this innovative approach of healing through art.
Snowflake Video Productions is releasing Raw Visions (Art of Survival) as a way to engage the mainstream audience, as well as those in the medical and educational professions, to the significance of healing through art. The goal is to bring to light how the artists' trials and tribulations can be overcome through artistic expression. This groundbreaking movie will connect the artists and viewers through the universal expression of passion and pain, and give hope to trauma victims.
We are
currently mid-way through post production – and are looking for
additional funding to complete this project by early spring. In this
stage of production, your support will allow us to edit the final
version of
the documentary project in a timely way. Additional funding is also
needed for promotion and distribution, as well as paying for music,
sound
mixing and duplication services.
In addition to its entertainment value, Raw Visions (Art of Survival) will also be used as an important
adjunct educational tool for art therapists, social workers, psychologists,
trauma specialists, and other professionals working in the healing community.
