So what is CharacterKu?

CharacterKu is Sudoku, but without numbers. Instead, you start with 9 cute characters. Choose who you wanna play with - Pets, Monsters, Robots, Ninjas, and many, many more!

Solve the puzzle by putting each of these characters into every column, row, and section.

To move characters just drag and drop them with your finger. Keep placing characters until you solve the puzzle.

You can share a completed puzzle, challenge a friend to beat your time, or compare your time with other players.

But the best part of CharacterKu are the characters. Each collection of 9 characters is called a "character pack". A few basic character packs will be included with the game (available for free download on the iTunes App Store). Extra character packs can be unlocked for 99 cents each.

So what can YOU do to help?

Smileypop is a small family company. We have lots of great ideas. But ideas without support are just that - ideas. So we need 2 things from you: your backing and your voice. A small donation of $5 can go a long way. And tweeting/sharing the CharacterKu Kickstarter project with your friends can go even further.

What will the money be used for? We can assure you we won't be taking a vacation to the Bahamas. Your funds will go directly to developing CharacterKu. We've already spent hours and hours making the game super fun and will be spending many more before it's ready. Our characters are the cutest around, and we plan on launching the game with several different ones for you to choose from. We need to pay top artists to create lots of high-quality artwork, both now and for future updates.

MORE MONEY = MORE CHARACTERS

The more money we can raise, the more character packs we can create. And more importantly, we are planning on licensing "branded characters." Famous characters like Mickey Mouse require large up front fees and usually royalty payments on sales as well. YOUR DONATIONS ARE CRUCIAL to make sure we can get your favorite characters in the game. We are already have some cute Japanese characters making their way into CharacterKu, but we want lots, lots more and we want you to help us decide. Do you like Disney? Hello Kitty? Pokemon? Be sure to donate and let us know.

We will also use the funds for marketing. Every day, more and more games come out on the iTunes App Store. It's becoming harder and harder for developers to get the word out about the games they work so hard to create. But remember, in addition to your monetary donation, word-of-mouth is the best form of advertising, and it's free! So make sure to tell everyone you know about how you're helping to make this awesome game happen.
