About this project
Small Houses is a Michigan based Indie/Folk project led by Singer/Songwriter, Jeremy Quentin. In December of 2010, Quentin entered Chain O Lakes campground in Bellaire, MI with Seth Bernard, Daisy May Erlewine, John Krohn, and an 8 track reel to reel recording machine. After a week in a rustic style cabin, the group left with a small group of songs that would be dedicated towards a short E.P. entitled, "Just Before The North." This record will act as a sort of prelude to a larger album entitled, "North," which will begin production in early March.
The songs from these albums follow a similar theme describing the lustrous image of the Northern regions throughout the Midwest while comparing the particular placement of the region to remarkable moments in any person's life. Everyone has an ideology about how to find comfort and it somehow always relates to traveling to a certain place in the world, Jeremy Quentin believes that North is his direction, and as we grow older, the further North we go.
When recording an album, there are many expenses in the process. Sound engineers, traveling musicians, equipment, and CD duplication will be the inheritance of your patronage.
