About this project

Hello there, arts enthusiast,

Providence, RI is a great little city.  We have arguably the best restaurants per capita in the country.  A thriving college town with a flourishing and supportive arts community, including great professional theatre. As I was walking through a park near my place on the East Side of the city, I realized that there isn't a free professional seasonal theatre production in the city.  This year I am trying to start this tradition, and I am asking for your help.

The theatre  and arts community have been wonderful with advice, and the city of Providence has been incredibly supportive.  But to put on  show that is free to the public costs money for props, sets, costumes, lighting and let's not forget actors.  I tried to originally launch this production using store front mannequins, but they couldn't handle the iambic pentameter, though the costumes looked great on them.

I will be posting a video soon, but I hope that you can help make a "free for all" summer Shakespeare in the Park event as much of a tradition in Providence as NY system weiners, Dells, and coffee milk.  I thank you for your time and generosity on behalf of the cast and crew.

Sincerely

TJ Curran, director
