Who is Sistine? 

Sistine is a lifestyle company aimed to inspire creativity, identity, and style. At its core, Sistine is a progressive street fashion brand and an online multimedia platform. Every product and project of Sistine incorporates our distinct vision, style, and attitude.

What separates Sistine apart from other subculture fashion brands is our unique combination of the rawness of street fashion with the flexibility of everyday casual wear. All of our products are designed and made according to high standards of quality, styling, and details.

At Sistine, we are led by creators and believers. Our philosophy is “don’t settle”. Don’t be imprisoned by dogma. Follow your heart and intuition, and someday you'll most certainly be right.

What is Alchemy by Sistine? 

We are constantly looking to design and release products that are inspiring and unique. This summer we decided to explore into completely unfamiliar territory and design our first jewelry line, Alchemy by Sistine. Memento Mori, meaning to "Remember your mortality", is the first collection from the Alchemy line. 

What is the inspiration behind the Memento Mori collection? 

Memento Mori, meaning to “Remember your mortality”, is about life, death, and everything in between. Where there’s a beginning, there’s an end. Life’s full of celebrations as well as tragedies. Perspective and attitude shapes one’s life. Remind yourself that the world was created for you but don't forget that you are but dust and ashes.

How is it made and what material is it made from? 

Every product Sistine have ever released are extremely limited in quantity. This jewelry collection is no exception. Each piece of jewelry is hand crafted by our master craftsman with over 20 years of jewelry making experience. 

For this collection, most of the pieces are made with .925 silver, with the exception of one that also include brass. Pearls are also used to gem our "Memento" skull ring. Additionally, the chains we use for our necklaces are custom made in Italy. Italy is known for making the best necklaces anywhere in the world so rest assured you will not be disappointed with the quality of our products. 

What the money is for? 

As much as we love designing and releasing exciting new products of the highest quality for our customers, it comes at a steep cost. At Sistine, we believe that the value of a tasteful and well-made product will speak for itself. 

The funding goal that you are contributing to allow us to cover the basic expenses for the materials, tools, moldings, packaging and production costs necessary to bring this jewelry collection to reality. As you can see from the video and images, we have already put in a great deal of effort and investment and gotten samples made to our high standard of quality. 

Up until this point, only a selection of our closest friends and customers have been able to place orders for a few very limited pieces from the Memento Mori collection. We have gotten excellent feedbacks regarding this first jewelry line and we want to be able to produce more pieces and make them available to everyone, not just a selected few.  In order to do that, we need your help in reaching our funding goal. 

A closer look at our jewelry collection:

Alchemy by Sistine - 2011 Memento Mori 

Ring: Ultima Forsan – The inspiration comes from old sundials often decorated with the motto ultima forsan, “perhaps the last hour”.

Necklace: Sephorith – The concept of the Kabbalah Tree of Life is often used to depict a map of Creation. The design seen here was created by Robert Fludd in the 16th century.

Ring: Memento – Skulls have been used since the very beginning of human civilization to represent death. In the 15th century, Memento Mori jewelry were worn to remember the passing of loved ones.

Bracelet: Vanitas – The 3 charms on this bracelet is the perfect embodiment of Sistine’s philosophy. The flower bud represents life, the skull is for death, and the hour glass represents time.

Necklace: Moriendi – Death is something we all fear to some extend. During the middle ages, Ars Moriendi, the art of dying is the concept of protocols and procedures for a good death.

Rings: Dust & Ashes – Everyone should have two pockets, each containing a slip of paper. On one should read: The world was created for me, and on the other: I am but dust and ashes. From time to time we must reach into one pocket or the other. The secret is knowing when to reach into each.
