Best Friends Forever could use your help (PLUS SOME GREAT NEWS!)
Hey there Singularity Supporters. We wanted to bring to your attention another Kickstarter project that is near and dear to our hearts. Best Friends Forever looks like it is going to be a great film, and we're even hoping to bring a special screening to NYC if they reach their Kickstarter goal.
With 4 days left and $16k+ to go, they could use a hand and are worth a look, so if you are into independent scifi films of the post-apocalyptic variety, check 'em out.
In the meantime, there are still about 10% of you that have not yet responded to our survey, and we ask that you please complete it ASAP. We want to import you all into the membership system over at savethescifi.com, and that gets a bit complicated if the responses to any given tier are not complete. Head over to Kickstarter and fill out the survey right now, and you will get your just rewards that much sooner.
Speaking of rewards, we've just made a deal with the estate of a prominent scifi figure so that we may share their back catalog with you, meaning that our first release is just around the corner!
We'll announce the title and author of Singularity&Co. Volume Zero soon, but in the meantime feel free to share your guesses in the comments.
First person to guess the secret title gets a special gift in the mail!
Quick point of clarification: We can't link you directly to the survey, but if you don't see a big banner at the top of the Kickstarter site telling you to fill it our when you log in, you probably already did.

Dang, I didn't think to check Amazon. Doh! I'm not sure if "zero" or "corner" is the second clue. The first, of course, is that the author is deceased. Well, the only book with "corner" in the name, by Poul Anderson, is The Three-Cornered Wheel, but it's part of the Polysotechnic League, and therefore in e-book form by Baen. So Anderson is out, if the second clue is "zero" or "corner."
Since no one has guessed in three days so far, how about letting us know what the second clue is? Please? :)

"Corner" and "Zero" do seem like the key words, and the author is dead ("estate"). But geez, no idea.

@Taint - Ash used to love Harry Harrison as a kid, and we have some of his books in the collection so it is possible. @Tim - We definitely would love to do an old Heinlein this year, fingers crossed, but that's not it. @AndonSage - Tau Zero is available on Amazon as an ebook, so not in our wheelhouse! Keep the guesses coming!

Heinlein - Glory Road....
Creator AndonSage on April 20, 2012
My guess is Poul Anderson's "Tau Zero."

The banner thing you mentioned is very helpful! Thank you. I've backed several 'starts culminating around the same time, and wasn't sure which I'd responded to. I've never noticed the banner before, so I guess I've been fairly prompt with my past surveys. 8^>

My two hopes would be either Harry Harrison or Philip José Farmer, but I suspect those are both Pipe dreams :D

I can't imagine it'll be any of the greats - Asimov, Clarke, etc - since they're mostly still in print.
Creator Rainier Kock on April 19, 2012
Arthur Clarke?
Creator Nick Johnson on April 19, 2012
L Ron Hubbard!
Sorry, couldn't resist. ;)

Hey AndonSage - Somehow the text got garbled during an edit, it's corrected now, and there are at least two clues.
Creator AndonSage on April 19, 2012
Let me see if I have this right... we're supposed to guess which author you made a deal with, and then guess which of their books you're going to release first? Umm... you do realize just how many sci-fi authors there are? Can we at least get a hint? Is the author still living? I ask because you could have dealt with an estate. Who published them originally? Because Baen is so good at releasing e-books, I'm guessing it's not a Baen author. Unless, maybe, it's someone like John Dalmas, who only has some of his books published like Baen.

There's also something like "Survey sent: 04/11/12 • Your response" right below the chosen reward if one has filled out the survey already (couldn't remember myself, too ;))
