We are excited to announce we'll be giving a percentage of proceeds to DonorsChoose.org. We support their approach to a "grassroots method" of funding classrooms around the country. Looking through the projects on their site touched my heart, while others made me laugh out loud.
We hope the energy you have placed in getting our project funded will be continued with the support of great programs like, DonorsChoose.org. Supporting the arts in our education system is vital to a healthy society.
A quote from John F. Kennedy, which inspired the creation of this book:
"For art establishes the basic human truths which must serve as the touchstones of our judgment. The artist...faithful to his personal vision of reality, becomes the last champion of the individual mind and sensibility against an intrusive society and an offensive state."
Be well. Spread wealth.
This project successfully raised its funding goal on November 5, 2009.

Fantastic news! DonorsChoose.org is doing great work, connecting donors to teachers to meet real, on-the-ground needs in classrooms across the country.
Scott - Wow, I'm so excited that you selected DonorsChoose.org!
I've sometimes given my friends and family gift certificates to DonorsChoose.org as alternatives for birthdays, holidays, weddings, etc. It's the perfect gift for that hard-to-buy-for person. I was nervous about doing it a few times, but without fail every person has written back to me with so much excitement about the classroom they've funded. It's amazing to see that even small donations can make a difference in children's lives.
Think about DonorsChoose.org for your Christmas and Hanukkah presents this year! Suggest it to your boss as a way for your company to do community outreach (you can select classes in your town). I promise, this is one of the most gratifying donations you'll ever make.
