Telluric Variation
That was almost completely unanimous then wasn't it? Telluric Variation will be the final stretch goal! It doesn't look like we'll hit it without divine intervention at this point, but as this Kickstarter has already proven five times over, anything is possible!

I've put a nice high resolution concept render of the planets here if you fancy a new wallpaper.
For those who wanted the IMP adventure mode, it still could happen. The initial plan was to farm it out to someone with more experience with Rogue-likes, so that is still a possibility for the future. If not, I might put it together for a game-jam at some point.
Get The Word Out
We are now in the final twenty two hours! Please spread the word. Share the game on Facebook, Twitter and all your usual online haunts. Every penny we get at this point is going into awesome extra content and we are still tantalisingly close to the custom robot creator!
Live Stream
I've been asked to do a live stream of the last few hours of the Kickstarter. I'll get one set up, but I'm not sure I can the get the team over on such short notice due to us currently being rather geographically disparate. It's also ending at 8:03am EST. So I'm not sure there will be many people around to watch. Maybe I'll stream my first ever game of StarTopia!

To be honest I am more interested in the Robot editor than in the planets, i know there is a whole lot more programming and work in the different planets
Creator David on November 27, 2012
I would love for us to reach that goal but I don't see that happening right now. Post release, if the goal is not met, please consider this for DLC content material. I'd love to emulate surviving on Hoth or escaping the Thing. Also underwater would be sweet. The dead world reminds me of Dead Space's first game, which is perfect :D
Creator Daniel Gobin on November 27, 2012
Startopia livestream would be amusing. I still can't believe you've never played it... seeing it mentioned around here so much has caused me to spend the last 6 hours or so playing it, lol. I'm so happy you're helping to revitalize this genre. :D
Creator Marcus Engström on November 27, 2012
Geezus, just give it up with the white knight routine. He was the one that brought up the alternate planets and gamemodes. It's only given as an idea to release it later on if we can't make it up to 200k, which it doesn't seem like we will. Better if it's released on a later date, than us not getting to see it at all in the finished product.
Creator Lorenz Jugel on November 27, 2012
That kind of talk already?
Please, let the poor guy finish his game first and go asking for Expansions later on.
( Yes, "Expansions". Not "DLC". This ain't one of those DRM-infested whatchamacallits. ;) )
Creator Greenfr0G on November 27, 2012
Why is everybody talking about DLC? Datadisk is what we need! But that can wait after the main game is done. Either live stream of you+team/ StarTopia let´s play will be fine.
Creator Dylyan on November 27, 2012
I also would really like to see the telluric variation in the game, even if we don't hit the 200k stretchgoal, might be even an idea for a small ( and reasonable priced) DLC!
Creator Max Doran on November 27, 2012
Simon focus on making the main game and the other stuff you can juts release as DLC =]

I fully support this statement and am curious about this as well. It would be ideal stuff for an expansion, and I would happily shell out for this.

Hell yea! Expansion pack ftw! I'd pay for that!
Creator Jordan Richards on November 27, 2012
Definitely feeling a live stream!
The UK and European peoples will be awake! (such as myself) :D
Creator Anders Mellon Skov Hermansen on November 27, 2012
I hope divine intervention comes around for sure - what makes these games great is the replayability. Having more "biomes" to try and survive in only adds to this.
But failing the deadline, I hope you will keep it in mind for further down the road - especially if you allow pre-orders till release so people can keep helping with the funding while getting their pre-order. :)
Creator Michal Chwedczuk on November 27, 2012
I'll second the idea of releasing Telluric Variation after Maia launches as a sort of expansion pack. I'd definitely buy that.
Also, I'm surprised you haven't played StarTopia yet. I assumed it was one of your sources of inspiration. Great game though, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
Creator gandalf.nho - Weresheepjaguar Huntress on November 27, 2012
I want to see these new worlds and in the possibility of not achieving the goal, I hope Simon can make a proper expansion later (after Maia launches, using the profits) or even a Maia 2 with this content. Many backers will glady pay for this

Though if you've got the planets in even higher resolution, that'd be awesome ;)
Creator Richard "AvatarIII" Barclay on November 27, 2012
StarTopia was alright, I still have my disc somewhere, but it really doesn't hold a candle to either Dungeon Keeper or Theme Hospital, of which StarTopia wanted to be both but succeeded at being neither.
I'd love to double my pledge but there's no pledge tier at £120 for a start, I really can't afford/justify another £40 for a second poster and 2 signatures, nor a further £50 on top of that for my name in the opening credits and a signed boxed copy of the game, sorry Simon. :(
Creator Meneth on November 27, 2012
Thanks for the concept art; my desktop looks like this now: http://i.imgur.com/CrWKS.jpg

Come on Robot creator, soooo close! Well done Simon, you must be well chuffed with how well its gone :)
Creator David Hostetler on November 27, 2012
Well I just doubled my pledge. :) Kickstarter is going to put me in the poor house. God speed, sir!
Creator Marcus Engström on November 27, 2012
So, I would really love this.

StarTopia is bloody brilliant. I have not played it for over 10 years but now have itchy fingers to give it another go. :D
Creator Brandon Schwarz on November 27, 2012
I hope you can meet your goal.
