About this project

The media is dying. But that won't stop us, two former print editors, from launching an amazing new web magazine. We're calling it Sight Unseen, because it's all about what's behind the scenes in the creative world—the personalities, processes, habits, and inspirations of people who make things of all kinds, plus factory visits and stories about how art and design objects are fabricated. It will be intimate and personal and show you things you may never have seen otherwise.

Sight Unseen will launch on Tuesday, November 10, after seven months of hard work by us, our designers, and our developer. Your support will help us pay back our launch costs, which will in turn help us keep traveling and reporting and bringing you stories from every pocket of the creative world. We'll be updating the site daily, so there's a lot more work to be done. Get involved! Donate! And share your ideas with us—you probably know a designer or artist who deserves to be seen by a larger audience. That's what we're here for.
