Showpaper Issue 63
Project by Showpaper
Project by Showpaper
Showpaper is a single broad sheet, 10,000-print, ad-free publication which comes out every two weeks and features, on one side, more than 300 all-ages shows and fifty venues in which many of those shows will take place, and, on the other side, a full-size, full-color poster by an artist. To appear in our publication, a show needs only to be all ages and cost less than twenty-five dollars to enter. This allows us to compile a unique listing of shows, which is: comprehensive; free of advertising; without a hierarchy of artists or venues; and, sometimes, the only place a show will be listed.
Showpaper has never received any institutional or corporate funding, but it's a full-time job for many of us who barely have part-time ones to be able to organize the required weekly fund-raisers to help us pay for printing every two weeks. We would not have made it this far without the support of countless amazing bands and generous audiences and volunteers, but after just over 2 years we feel we can only rely for so long on those aspects of our paper before we exhaust them.
If you're willing to pledge a small donation to Showpaper to help us print this upcoming issue, it's as simple as pointing and clicking, and letting us know that you'd like the Tri-State's most comprehensive listing of all ages and underground shows to stay independent and in the hands of the community it supports.
Thanks for all the work you've done, and all we hope you do in the future. The musical landscape wouldn't be the same without you.

Showpaper is a non-for-profit organization committed to establishing a greater network of emerging young artists and musicians throughout the tri-state area.
In conjunction with providing a database of more than 50 show spaces for young performing artists and a comprehensive listing of over 300 all ages music events every two weeks, each issue has a full color print by a current and upcoming artist.
While Showpaper is first and foremost dedicated to giving young adults access to music, we are focused on the parallel aims of freely exposing the community to contemporary art and avant-garde performance, giving the artists a platform beyond the gallery and the museum, and providing the musicians with access to community-oriented venues with the goal of creating a tighter-knit, more culturally-diverse society.
