Making my 2nd studio album!! Vintage soul music for the bruised but not broken...the soundtrack for your heartbreak and your healing.
I've been fortunate enough to perform on the famed stages of Broadway, and I have traveled around the world singing the extraordinary work of amazing composers. But NOTHING brings me greater joy than connecting with and moving people through my own words and melodies.
I'm asking you to make pledges in exchange for amazing rewards so that I can make my second album!!!
My goal is to raise $16,000 to go towards creating the album. If I don't make it, all pledges will be returned. But I have faith it will get done! The money will go towards hiring musicians, producers, mixing, mastering, artwork and duplication.
For this album (still as yet unnamed) I have gone back to the soul music of the late 1960's and the records I was raised on (Otis Redding, Aretha, Sam Cooke, Etta James, Gladys Knight). Soul music from that era is so beautifully complex in it's simplicity and that is exactly what I intend to pay homage to with this album. In order to do so our recording process will incorporate techniques used back in the late 1960's. We're going to use the same mics they did back then, mic the room and the instruments the way they did and we will be recording to 1 inch tape through an 8 track recording machine instead of directly through the computer into pro-tools. I have the most amazing musicians and singers and a great producer at the helm and I am so excited to get this moving I can't even sleep at night!!!
I've written music from a heart that has loved, lost and loved again. I have made mistakes, I have repeated them, I've learned lessons and I've grown. My experiences in and out of love are not unique, they are widely shared. I know there are souls who need to hear what I have to say in the way that only I can say it and sing it. . .and I am committed to getting it out there.
