Update #2: Wildfires, computers, littles, and work...
Hey gang,
First let me update you on the situation in Colorado. My family is just a few miles from the Waldo Canyon fire that's been on the news so much lately. We are not in any danger, and the areas that were closest are now in full containment. However, for a few days life in Colorado Springs stood still as we all watched the flames consume everything in their path. Sadly, over 300 homes were destroyed on Tuesday afternoon. There is one fatality, and still a few people (under 10 at last reporting) that are missing. We remain in prayer for all those who lost so much. By God's grace, the firefighters have been successful in bringing this fire under control very quickly. Please be in prayer for Colorado (all the west, really) as new fires break out daily. The newest that I heard is in Grand Junction. That also seems to be growing rapidly and there is concern that it will cross the highway and endanger the community of Palisade.
Now to address my novel project. Thanks so much for your patience with me while my computer was in the shop getting the screen repaired. Good news: it's back, and I can see everything I'm doing on the screen! ;) That's helpful for cover design...
So now I'll be working on that piece. I will also be updating my Acknowledgements page inside the book. My littles are working on Thank You cards as we speak, and those will also go out with the books.
It would help me tremendously if you'd send me your mailing address so I can get all this in the mail when it's complete. I know most of you personally, but please everyone send me your address so I can make sure I send it to the correct place. In the midst of this cover design, I'll be completing revisions on my second novel, Ransomed, which will be available in August or September. That story deals with human trafficking. I'll also be working on interviews with experts in the field so I can write a short piece to offer either at the end of the book or separately for free. Free is good, right?
There's probably more I want to say, but my littles are trying hard to tear each other and the house to pieces. Yeah. I need to address that.
Praying blessings on each of you, and thanking God for you!
Shelley
